Trudy?

I was just wondering everyone’s general thoughts on [name_f]Trudy[/name_f]. I was watching the show Monk and have really taken a liking to it. I like it on its own, only because [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] is to harsh sounding to me.

not for a real child, just wondering everyones opinion

I get how it could be appealing to someone else, but something about [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] just doesn’t click with me at all. If I met one I would appreciate that the parents picked a name that was uncommon and retro and a bit daring, but it’s not a name that I see myself ever really liking.

Thinking about it a bit more, I like the style of the name more than I like the name itself, if that makes sense. I don’t like the sound of it.

I think of the character on Mad Men because I’ve never seen Monk. I also know a real life [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] who is a friend of my mom’s. About 50 years old, loud & funny. The TV character is rather out spoken & pushy as well. This makes me associate the name with someone who has a ‘big personality’ which I guess can be viewed as positive or negative, but I kind of like that strength in a girls name.

I thought of the character on HIMYM…[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] was already unappealing to me as a sort of ‘dowdy’ version of [name_f]Judy[/name_f] but now I really don’t like it after the Pineapple Incident. Although the actress was fairly appealing.

The Proud Family. BEST CARTOON [name_u]EVER[/name_u] WATCHED.

Hahaha! When I was around thirteen or fourteen and my godson was five there was this show on Nickelodeon about a sassy family call The Proud Family. It used to crack us up even though we were going through a really tough time.

The mom’s name was [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] and the grandma, [name_f]Sugar[/name_f] Mama, who was the best would always scream across the house “TRUUUUUUUUUDDAAAAAAYYY”

I have no clue why I remember that…but that image will always come with [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] for me.

LOL

I know a 50yo [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] and a 30yo [name_f]Trudi[/name_f] (neither are nicknames). I find the name spunky and feminine. Not in my naming style, but when I hear the name I picture someone energetic and generous.

[name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] [name_f]Gert[/name_f] [name_f]Gertie[/name_f] [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Trudy[/name_f]!
