Truman

[name]Hi[/name] berries! Me and my OH are starting to like [name]Truman[/name]. Can you give me your thoughts and opinions on the name? Middle names?
[name]John[/name], [name]Edward[/name], and [name]James[/name] are all family names that we would like to see in the mn place.

Thank you,
[name]Shannon[/name]

[name]Truman[/name] is nice: to me, it ties together the masculine last-name trend, the history vibe (president), and a rough-and-tumble sturdiness since it isn’t too long or complicated. I like the nn [name]True[/name]. I would choose a middle that doesn’t end in -n (like [name]John[/name]); the two -n endings right next to each other sound clunky to me. [name]Truman[/name] [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Truman[/name] [name]James[/name] are both nice. I’d be a tad mindful of the potential for TJ with the latter, but it could probably be avoided if you didn’t like it. I think [name]Truman[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] sound nice together.

I find [name]Truman[/name] extremely appealing in sound, nn’s etc. However, I personally wouldn’t use it given the whole “only guy to ever drop an A-bomb… twice!” thing. I’ve tried to get over it, but can’t - and I think I’d have a hard time not thinking of it if I was to meet a [name]Truman[/name] [name]IRL[/name]. I’d pick [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Grover[/name], [name]Grant[/name], [name]Hamilton[/name], or straight up [name]True[/name] before [name]Truman[/name].

[name]Truman[/name] is such a handsome, distinguished name. The only thing that drives me away is the association with [name]Harry[/name] [name]Truman[/name], and therefore Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I feel like that’s an unavoidable negative association. If it isn’t a problem for you though, please use it. [name]Truman[/name] [name]Edward[/name] or [name]Truman[/name] [name]John[/name] would be fantastic.
