We are not officially naming our new boy until he’s born, but the plan has always been to at least have a couple names to pick from so we aren’t overwhelmed and panicky. But nothing is sticking right now. I’m hoping when he’s born, something inside of at least one of us will click.

Considering the family names of [name_u]Jay[/name_u], [name_m]Robert[/name_m], [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] and [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] as probably middle names.

I think [name_m]Weston[/name_m] would fit really well!! I feel like I’m hearing a lot of Sawyers and Jamesons lately, although that doesn’t have to be a downside. [name_m]Weston[/name_m] sounds a bit fresher to me and fits with his siblings, but is different enough too!
[name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_m]Cole[/name_m], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], Annalyn, [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and… The first name that came to me was [name_m]Piers[/name_m] although you would have two names beginning with P and whether that bothers you or not.

I would try not to repeat first initials or ending sounds of the names you already have.

Question: does your husband have any names he actually likes, or does he just veto your suggestions? If the former, that may help with figuring out what style of names he likes and a compromise name that you will both like.
For example, I notice you seem to like “-er” names ([name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]) and/or English names related to words ([name_m]Cole[/name_m], [name_m]Weston[/name_m]). Have you thought about, say, Biblical names to go with [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] (eg [name_u]James[/name_u])? Is it possible your husband would like that style of name better?
(If he can’t think of any names he likes, he’s just going to have to deal with being indifferent to whatever name you pick.)

Asking your husband to say “yay”, “eh”, or “nay” on all of them may give you some hints on how to proceed.

He has always struggled with names, especially boy names. He just doesn’t feel strongly about any of them. Getting our other sons’ names chosen was a painful process, too. But this has been by far the worst. I sent him the Namehunter results and asked him if he liked ANY of those 90 names. He just said “I don’t know, we’ll see.” I’ve told him that this is frustrating for me and he needs to find a way to figure out what he thinks might work. He keeps saying he’ll try to come up with his own list and see where we can find middle ground, but he never follows through. This is just how he is. He has previously mentioned that [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are “okay” and that a couple others on my list “[name_m]Aren[/name_m]'t awful”, though he wouldn’t specify which ones. He’s really just a pain when it comes to this! lol
