It is SO hard to come up with a name for baby girl #3! I only have a few weeks left and my husband and I can’t agree! I like [name_f]Noa[/name_f] & [name_u]River[/name_u] but he just won’t go for either of those. I like [name_u]Piper[/name_u] too, but he says nope. He suggested [name_u]Raven[/name_u], which is ok (but I don’t love, and it seems just as “far out” as [name_u]River[/name_u] to me!) We both are ok with [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]/[name_u]Saylor[/name_u] or [name_u]June[/name_u], or maybe [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] nn [name_u]Scout[/name_u] (but don’t think that’s the one we would go with). We also both kinda like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
With baby girl #1 we totally agreed on [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and I would love to have that feeling again! With #2, she just really felt like a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] to me, and he wasn’t so sure, so I pretty much pushed that name through. I’d like to agree on #3.
So what are your thoughts on this potential list? (These are ones we both have said we think are ok but none that we just love!)
I think [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] (preferred sp… though now I see that the other spelling would give all three girls a Y in their name which is also cute) are really cute. I also like [name_u]June[/name_u] with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are great names, but seem to match less with your girls names.
[name_u]Saylor[/name_u] is cute. What about [name_f]Mardi[/name_f] it’s french for [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]. [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] , [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Mardi[/name_f].
I love [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I think [name_u]June[/name_u] works a bit better with your sibset but I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and it works well too. [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], & [name_u]June[/name_u] are all feminine, simple and spunky. Some others that might feel similar:
I love love love [name_u]River[/name_u]! It’s such a beautiful name and I can’t believe I barely ever hear it. [name_f]Noa[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u] are not my favourites, but I also love [name_u]Raven[/name_u], but if I was to choose between [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u], it would be [name_u]River[/name_u]. [name_u]Sailor[/name_u], [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are beautiful, but I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is too common and I’m not a big fan of names that are around too much, never in my life I was the only one with my name, there were years I had 8 classmates with the exact same name and I tried to avoid it when naming my kids. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are beautiful too but I think of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as a nickname
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are beautiful choices. Between [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] and [name_u]Saylor[/name_u], I prefer [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]. [name_u]June[/name_u] is beautiful, but I don’t know why it sounds so much like a middle name for me, maybe it’s because of my husband’s little sister who’s [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are both gorgeous, but I would go with [name_f]Greta[/name_f] between those two, even though my fav one on the list is [name_u]Sailor[/name_u].
If I were to suggest some others, I would suggest [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
I don’t know if anyone pointed this out yet but I like that they have one, two, and three syllables, in that order. I also think they sound feminine but not overly sweet, and I like that they are all familiar and easy names but not insanely popular. Bonus: they don’t share many sounds, so you don’t get locked into any funky patterns.
My second choice from your list would be [name_u]June[/name_u]. I think it goes very well. I think it’s cute that it repeats the -oo sound in [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and has the N-ending like [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], but that is kind of what I mean about creating a pattern with names - if you were to have a fourth girl, would you feel like you needed a name that also echoed similar sounds? It isn’t necessary, but it’s something to consider if you’re having a hard time narrowing down your list.
Well, right! That’s why I’m trying to find one we both like. I like [name_m]WAY[/name_m] more names than he does; he is harder to please.
So, if we narrowed it down to what he likes, right now it would just be [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] or [name_u]Saylor[/name_u]. Or [name_u]June[/name_u]. I like both. What do you prefer?
I like [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] and I like that spelling b/c it feels like a name rather than an occupation or something. But I am NOT a fan of adding “y’s” to names that shouldn’t have them like [name_f]Madisyn[/name_f] or something like that. I just would think [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] would be spelled with a “y”.
I’d go with [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]. It sounds the best with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], with the added bonus of your husband liking it too!
I love [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]! This spelling only:)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is perfection with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the pp suggestion of [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].
Maybe:
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
I’m liking [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] & [name_u]June[/name_u] best. Is [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] a weird spelling though? Again, I’m NOT into adding “y’s” in names, just to come up with a more feminine sounding name, but I guess to me, “[name_u]Saylor[/name_u]” looks more like a girl’s name. And “[name_u]Sailor[/name_u]” looks more like someone who sails.
Maybe I should do a poll on spelling… I’d be curious what came out on top and why.
I personally prefer [name_u]June[/name_u] with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It has a similar feel, I think. If you were going to go with [name_u]Sailor[/name_u]/[name_u]Saylor[/name_u] though, I agree with you that the spelling [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] is better. With it’s similar appearance to [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], I don’t think there would be a problem with pronunciation.
