Trying to decide!

We are trying to decide between two names! Please tell me your favourite, thanks!

[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] will be the middle name after a relative

Im not totally fond of either, but I like [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I prefer [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], though it’s your choice.

I like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] better than [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]… I always see [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] as signifying a wild child.

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] gets my vote!

Ooh that’s hard! I love both names! I love the name [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] - in fact it’s in my top 5 names. But [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] sounds soo adorable. So that’s by vote!

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is appealing to me, but it’s in my “inspiration” list instead of my “I’ll actually use this” list. As many people in the forums have recently pointed out, naming an actual human is different than gathering names for a theoretical human. I’ve found that there are names I like that I wouldn’t actually use. [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is one of those. I love the vibe from it, outdoorsy and a little untamed (duh!). I love the quasi-literary suggestion of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde. I love the allusion to [name_m]Little[/name_m] House on the [name_u]Prairie[/name_u]. I like that it’s rare without being odd. But when I think of an actual child named [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] (or [name_m]Rowdy[/name_m] or [name_m]Brick[/name_m]…) it just doesn’t seem to work as well as it does in my imagination. I hesitate to give a name that also sounds like a description - I even hesitate with virtue names, just because I wonder about labeling a kid. So [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] gets the sentimental vote from me, but [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] gets the “I’d actually use it” vote. (Incidentally, if you flipped it around so [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] was in the middle, suddenly I’d use it.)

My top choice is [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. I guess my fave from your choices would be [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] since [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] seems very adjective-ish with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (he’s not just [name_m]Jack[/name_m], he’s a wilder/more wild [name_m]Jack[/name_m]).
