We have 6 children already, and we are hoping to have a last one soon. So, we are trying to find THE name one last time.
I would like to get some feedback on these names. What you think about them, any good/bad associations you might have, how they go with the rest of the sibset (see sig) as well as our surname; [name_m]Knight[/name_m].
I don’t think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] flows with the other names, but the rest all do.
Of those, here are ones I really like and think pair well with [name_m]Knight[/name_m]:
My favourite out of your lists are [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I would also like to suggest [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] as I think they would go well with your sibset as well! Great naming styles though.
Good luck!X
My favourites are [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. They sound wonderful with your last name and fit your other children’s names very well.
verminator - I might have to agree with you. I’m worried that [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is too different from the other childrens names
hanbow - Not liking [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], they are too frilly for us
rmbear - [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]! I’m worried that [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] sounds too immature and too frilly, though. We have [name_f]Julia[/name_f] on our list as well, maybe that’s better?
sleepysessha - Thank you! I do have some worried about [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (see above) and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] though. Maybe [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is, well, too old lady sounding? magnolia - Thank you! [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is one of my new crushes
I really like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Simple and beautiful. And they go well with your surname and sibset. And I personally don’t think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] sounds too old lady because it reminds me of the little girl from the Nutcracker ballet.
Oh, I love so many on your list. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is my favorite! I have one. I also love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].
My ranking, from best to worst, with ratings of “[name_f]Love[/name_f]”, “like”, or “dislike”
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. This name has an underrated vintage feel and sounds very pretty.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is unique, but not yooneek, and rolls right off the tongue.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is very pretty and refined, and is becoming refreshing after taking such a long hiatus. NN of [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is adorable, especially on a small girl.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - Like. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a very pretty french name, if not a little frilly, and, increasingly, trendy. Maybe try the more practical [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] instead?
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - Like. While [name_f]Anna[/name_f] sounds beautiful, it is super popular and common and has held a spot in the Top 100 for the past 130 years.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - Like. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is a little weird and clunky, but it makes an interesting and bold choice.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] - Like. I’m pretty neutral about [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. To me, it has always been more of a middle name name.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] - Like. This name has always carried a french-ish, romantic aura to me though.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] - Like/Dislike. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is a pretty name sound-wise, but, resting comfortably in the number one spot, it is far too popular for my taste. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too popular. Maybe as a middle name instead?
[name_f]May[/name_f] - Like/Dislike. [name_f]May[/name_f] is okay, and I don’t love it or hate it, but it’s pretty insubstantial. Always seemed to be a middle name name or at the end of a hyphenated name. Also, it’s quite old-fashioned.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - Dislike. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is ugly, trendy, overpopular, a boys’ name with “-uh” stuck at the end of it…all the things that will make me hate a name. NNs and offshoots [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_f]Alexia[/name_f], [name_f]Lexa[/name_f], and [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] are a little better.
Your children’s names are beautiful! I really love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] to pair with them–and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_m]Knight[/name_m] is lovely!–but how do you feel about a third “E” baby? It’s the only initial you’ve repeated so far, but you have enough children that I feel like it wouldn’t seem too themey if [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] all shared an initial. It’s by far my favorite of your options, but I also really love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] with [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], I don’t think that [name_f]Clara[/name_f] sounds like an old lady name. There are so many [name_f]Clara[/name_f]'s in tv shows, movies, books, etc. at the moment which are not old at all so I think the name is very usable
