So after much thought and conflict in my head, I have decided to let [name]Ashley[/name] go (and let [name]Theo[/name] know it is now out as an option). Hopefully one day some celebrity decides to use it for their son. I think that will be the only way it will truly come back into the light as a true unisex name.
Anyways, now (post-[name]Ashley[/name]) I need to find more boys names. [name]Theo[/name] and I sat down and deleted a lot of the boys names on our list.
I’m looking for some new suggestions!
Basically what we like in a boys name is a sort of southern gentlemen type feel. We also love names with history (mythology included). And of course, we really don’t like names that are popular. So nothing in the top 100 or 200 (in [name]Canada[/name] our top 100 is pretty much the same).
Here is our boys list at the moment:
[name]Beauregard[/name] (nickname [name]Beau[/name]) (this is our #1 name now that [name]Ashley[/name] is gone)
[name]Dimitri[/name]
[name]Apollo[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] (nickname [name]Gray[/name])
[name]Leander[/name] (nickname [name]Leo[/name])
Would also love to see what you guys think of our list at the moment!
Thanks Berries!
(PS: I find out the gender tomorrow so I will let you guys know if it’s a boy!)
Over [name]Ashley[/name]? Noo! [name]How[/name] about [name]Cary[/name] ?
I looked up a few Southern US states to see if they had any governors with historical names, and I came across a few possibilities:
Audubon
Dubose
[name]Claiborne[/name]
[name]Anselm[/name]
[name]Tyree[/name]
Tilghman
[name]Walker[/name]
If you like [name]Anselm[/name] how about [name]Ansel[/name] like [name]Ansel[/name] [name]Adams[/name]?
[name]Easton[/name]
Since you like [name]Dimitri[/name] and [name]Lysander[/name] have you considered [name]Demetrius[/name]?
[name]Oberon[/name] as an alternative to [name]Auberon[/name]
[name]Yarrow[/name]
[name]Merrick[/name]
[name]Russet[/name]
[name]Maximus[/name]
[name]Ernest[/name]/[name]Earnest[/name]
[name]Constantin[/name]
[name]Benedict[/name]
