Trying to Honor "Bradley" and "Shannon". Need Help!

My boyfriend and I both [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] for a boy, so we’re trying to find the perfect combination of names for it. We like two middle names.

Anyway, I would like to honor my father ([name]Bradley[/name]) and my boyfriend ([name]Shannon[/name]) in my combo for [name]Hugo[/name]. The only things I can think of are [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Bradley[/name] [name]Shan[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Shannon[/name] [name]Brad[/name]. Those just… I’m not sure about them. What do you think? [name]How[/name] else could I honor “[name]Bradley[/name]” and “[name]Shannon[/name]”?

[name]How[/name] about [name]Brennan[/name]?

I’m not really a fan  it’s a bit too trendy for my style, you know? Especially next to [name]Hugo[/name], which is a little more out there. Thank you though! I see where you got [name]Brennan[/name] I greatly appreciate it.

[name]Bradley[/name] is a surname name and [name]Shannon[/name] is after the [name]Shannon[/name] [name]River[/name] in [name]Ireland[/name].
[name]Bradley[/name] means Broad Clearing and is Old English.
[name]Shannon[/name] means Old/Wise ([name]Sean[/name]) and [name]River[/name] (abhann)
What about using names that mean the same or similar things?
I kind of like how [name]Shannon[/name] has two elements to it and one of them if [name]Sean[/name]. So you could do:
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Bradley[/name] [name]Sean[/name] or [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sean[/name] [name]Bradley[/name] if you like.

[name]Sean[/name] is pronounced like [name]Shawn[/name] and is the Irish variant of [name]John[/name].
Good luck! I like [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Bradley[/name] and [name]Shannon[/name] a lot!

Thank you  I’ve thought of the similar meaning thing before but I’ve always tried not to focus in it too much, so I’m not sure about it.

Hm… I do like the [name]Sean[/name] aspect, BUT my uncle (my favorite uncle in the world, actually) is [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Shawn[/name], so I worry if I were to use that, if everyone would assume I was naming him after my uncle, not my boyfriend, you know? And I don’t want it to need THAT much explanation, haha.

What about [name]Shane[/name] instead of [name]Shannon[/name]?

[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Bradley[/name] [name]Shane[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Bradford[/name] [name]Shane[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Brandon[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Braydon[/name]

Can anyone else help out?

[name]Brandon[/name] maybe? Trying to combine the two.

I know you’re not keen on [name]Brennan[/name], but how about [name]Brannon[/name]? It’s more obviously a combination of the two, and sounds a little more traditional to my ear.

Your other option could be to look for names with similar meanings. For example, [name]Bradley[/name] means wide meadow and [name]Shannon[/name] means old and wise.

Possible combos from these
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alfred[/name] [name]Baxley[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Redmond[/name] [name]Clooney[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Henley[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Raymond[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Aldo[/name] [name]Farley[/name]

What about [name]Sheldon[/name]?

I kind of like [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alfred[/name] [name]Baxley[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Redmond[/name] [name]Clooney[/name]! But I don’t think my boyfriend would go for them… A lot of them aren’t his style and I know exactly what he’d say.

[name]Alfred[/name] is too old and reminds me of Batman (that might not be a bad thing though, haha. We both love Batman)
[name]Baxley[/name] sounds like a dog name.
[name]Redmond[/name] is too close to our girl name, [name]Scarlett[/name] and “sounds made up”.
I hate [name]George[/name] [name]Clooney[/name]! (haha, I can seriously hear this right now)

But I really do like [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alfred[/name] [name]Baxley[/name]. Maybe I could get away with that one  thanks

Are you hoping to have two middle names or just one?

Also, is your boyfriend pressuring (subtly, as I know you’re not expecting yet) to have a junior? Otherwise, one could make the argument that his son, bearing his last name, already honors him! It could take some of the pressure off to honor just [name]Bradley[/name] in the name.

Are their middle names easier to work with?

Or you could have them chose their favorite names? Like if they could choose their own name, what would they choose?

That would give you options without having to be so literal. I’ve been trying to think of a way to honor our Aunts, both named [name]Linda[/name], and so we’re working on it.

Good luck.
