Trying to make the final decision!

We are having our first child, a boy, in late [name_u]March[/name_u]. Our favorite first name is [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and we like the idea of [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] as a full name with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as a nickname. However, [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] is very hard to pair with a middle name! Also, we would like to use the family name Telesforo as a middle name, but [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo seems long. I like the sound of [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo, but is [name_m]Leo[/name_m] too short for a first name?

Advice I’d love to receive:
Would you stick with the short first name to keep the family middle name? [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo
Would you stick with the long first name and still keep the family middle name? [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo, “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]”
OR would you keep [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] as a first name and change the middle name?

I agree with you that [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo is quite a mouthful. Both are very interesting and unique names!
I do not think that [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is too short to stand alone as a first name at all, I know a couple of little boys named [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and I think it is a great name. I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo is a great combo.

If I were to choose, I’d stick with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo. My second choice would be to find a different mn for [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m].

Suggestions:
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Abel[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]

[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]Evan[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Gage[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]

Good luck!

I would go with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo, but if you like [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] a lot better, you could maybe pull it off.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo flows better imo. If you are set on [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], maybe pick another middle name…

[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Callan[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Forester[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]McArthur[/name_m]

I would go with [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]

You could perhaps use a slightly longer name of [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as a nn if you thought it was too long?

I would go with [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo with nn. [name_m]Leo[/name_m]

It will be fine to use [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo because we seldom say our first and middle names together and I think it’s more important to use your first choice of names. After his birth announcement the only time most of us use all our names is to complete government forms, etc.

I’d go with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Telesforo. I agree that [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo is quite long. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a perfectly acceptable first name.

[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] Telesforo is NOT too long. Lots of people give their children three or four names, some cultures even more!
It sounds like a name with lots of meaning and family history. Why give that up to suite strangers that don’t get it?
