Okay, so I chose “some are okay”, but I need to explain.

There’s trendy as in [name]Madyson[/name] (which I don’t like, but its okay) and then there is Madysyn which makes me want to hurl.

In general, I hate them, but there is one one guilty exception: [name]Zoey[/name]

OK. I really dislike them. But, I have one guilty pleasure: [name]Leighton[/name]. It is unisex (which I usually don’t like) and I think the original spelling is [name]Layton[/name]. But [name]Leighton[/name] just looks feminine and classy!!!
I’m stopping defending myself right now. I just love it.

Haha its all good:) I perfer [name]Leighton[/name] too, i seem to notice most named with “lee” sounds i perfere with literal spell out of leigh.

I’m guilty of loving Everleigh too. I usually prefer the original spelling for most names except for [name]Zoe[/name], which I prefer [name]Zoey[/name].

I know! [name]Zoey[/name] just looks so much more spirited than [name]Zoe[/name]. Plus, [name]Zoe[/name] looks like it should say “zoo”. It’s a guilty pleasure.

I put some are okay.

I generally prefer names that have a ‘lee’ sound in them to have leigh instead. (Examples: [name]Carleigh[/name], [name]Ashleigh[/name], and [name]Kimberleigh[/name] are some of my guilty pleasures.)

Another (I’m not sure if it’s actually trendy or not) that I prefer is [name]Madelyn[/name]. I know a girl who spells it that way, and I just think it’s prettier.

I wrote a Nameberry blog on this topic (it ran earlier this week, and it’s still on the front page of the blog section), and thought I’d
post the link here in case anyone is interested. https://nameberry.com/blog/2009/12/14/yooneek-names-do-kre8iv-spellings-make-names-more-special/#comments

Take care!
