Well, after a 63 (I think) day cycle, AF finally showed. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though we’ve been TTC for nearly a year, it still is a relief to get my period after skipping a month. Hopefully my cycles can eventually be regulated and we can finally conceive
minxtruck, It can depend on the views of your doctor and medical history as well. I have a very proactive OB and she said after 5 months of OPK’s and no pregnancies I could come in and get a jump start on a game plan and testing. It’s been just a year now and my husband (and ultimately I) agreed that we would try the year before going in for testing. A friend of mine also had a very proactive OB because she was 40 when they started trying and her doctor wanted them to be successful within several months so they started right in on testing.
I am skeptically joining your ranks. My boys are still very young but it took us several years of TTC before they were conceived so I am preparing myself for another long road ahead. We want more than anything for the boys to have a little brother or sister.
I’m not yet sure when we will start, but hopefully it won’t take as long this time.
@chickenlady: Hoping you have an easier time conceiving this time around, whenever you guys decide to start trying! I’ve heard that it’s not necessarily the same experience every time, so maybe it won’t be quite as long of a process this time.
So I had a follow up appointment regarding some potential health issues and was given the news that I do indeed have a few underlying conditions that I wasn’t aware of…among other things, one of these conditions (hypothyroidism) could be impacting my ability to have normal periods. I’m starting medications today, so hopefully they will improve my quality of life soon and maybe even lead to us being able to get pregnant in 2017!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
My husband and I will be trying for another baby in [name_u]January[/name_u]. Our daughter is 2.5 years old, so she will be 3 by the time the next one is born. Hopefully she can be a helpful big sister. This is actually my first time “trying to concieve” because my daughter was a surprise. I am 25 years old and my husband turns 27 next month.
Where did you go in Mexico? My husband is from [name_f]Puebla[/name_f]. I went there with my daughter in [name_u]July[/name_u] to meet his family.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone- checking in!
@namergirl- I’m glad AF showed up for you! Good luck trying to get on track
It took us 9 months to conceive our daughter and that was with totally regular “old faithful” style periods, so never give up hope. Good luck!
@chickenlady- [name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to the group! Good luck on your ttc journey. Fingers crossed that you won’t stay in the “ttc” group for too long!
@jenni_lynn- If I could give you one piece of advice about actually “ttc”, it would be [name_m]DON[/name_m]'T THINK ABOUT IT! That sounds crazy and I’m half kidding, but not really. Trying to plan around your cycle can quickly turn to obsessing about your cycle which skyrockets the stress and makes it very, very hard to conceive. Please please try to stay calm and relax. I know first hand how detrimental ttc stress is to you and your family!!!
Well as far as I am concerned, nothing new to report. I’m in my fertile window now and with my husband recovering from surgery I gave him the option to skip this month, but he’s a trooper and he’s willing to try. I am shooting for BD’ing every other day this week, and so far we’ve been successful in that. My cycles are a few days shorter now, so at least I don’t have to wait quit as long at the end of the cycle to find out! Wish us luck!
I’m also starting a clean eating, healthier diet and I am very excited about the prospect of getting healthier and losing a little weight. Also, my last semester of grad school starts next [name_f]Monday[/name_f]; 15 weeks of that and I’ll have my Masters degree!!!
@asche926: Thanks! The NP still wants me to try going on the pill for awhile to regulate it, but we are going to see if my new medications help at all, since they will impact my hormones anyway. I hope your husband feels better soon! It’s really sweet of him to still be willing to try after all that! I hope it works out for you this time around
congrats on getting closer to your degree!
So I found out some news…my brother and [name_m]SIL[/name_m] are expecting their third child. My dad told me, but I don’t think it is common knowledge yet, since they prefer to tell people in person, rather than the grapevine. Despite our TTC troubles, we are ecstatic for them! [name_m]SIL[/name_m] recently underwent a surgery for endometriosis and I guess it worked lol. She had her first ultrasound and baby looks great!
I also ended up telling my younger sister that DH and I have been TTC. We weren’t really telling anyone, other than a couple of people closest to us who can keep their mouths shut, but we were talking about a related topic (not [name_m]SIL[/name_m]'s baby…that is their news to share to family) and she asked. I didn’t go into detail, but did discuss it briefly with her. She was really supportive and not all mushy about it, which I appreciated. She’s a great sister
I can’t wait to see her interact with my future baby…I just hope it happens soon.
@asche926: Thanks for the advice. And congratulations on your degree! The only thing I was really planning on doing was just stopping my birth control pills, and my OBGYN gave me prenatal vitamins. I conceived my daughter only being off birth control for a month, but we will see what happens this time. The challenge this time will be finding time to be alone without our daughter lol.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] went to the doctor the other day and my husband and I have decided to start trying for our first in 2017! I have tachycardia (my heart bets a little fast) and got info on that, and have a cardiologist app next month where hopefully I can get another EKG because last time it was good and as long as it hasn’t dropped too much I can start TTC. If I decide to stay at the same job I’m at, then TTC will start in [name_f]May[/name_f]. If I switch then I won’t start until [name_f]September[/name_f]. I’m an [name_m]Art[/name_m] Teacher (first year) and currently with Middle School students, but I may try and switch to Elementary students. It also partly depends on whether or not I get rehired, because I’d rather not have a kid in the middle of a school year during my first year at that school. DH is from a big family (he is one of 7, dad is one of 14, mom is one of 12, and he has a sister with 5) and he would also like a big family (something I have always wanted), so we want to get started sooner rather than later…but we have plenty of time (both 23). I can’t wait! =)
Hey everyone! DH and I are looking to start TTC baby number 2 in late summer/fall of 2017. I am really wanting a summer babe since our DS was born in [name_u]November[/name_u] (2015) and I found it difficult with the cold weather and lack of sunshine. It would be nice to be able to just get and out about if we need especially with 2! It took us about 7 months to conceive our DS which is pretty normal and it was uneventful so hopefully the same will happen the second time around. I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully you ladies TTC soon wont be here for long! Also I am 27 and DH is 29.
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] @scarletsway! Fingers crossed you get your summer baby when you and DH start TTC in the summer/fall.
I’m CD29, and either 14 or 15DPO, today (based on OPKs, not temping). I usually have a 27-day cycle, so AF is one day late. I don’t have any of the normal symptoms (spots, tender breasts) but I POAS with an IC both yesterday morning and this morning and BFN.
I don’t ‘feel pregnant’ if that’s even possible, so I suspect AF is going to come out of the blue in the next 24-48 hours. A little part of me is still hopeful I’m not out and maybe it was late implantation / a shy little bean.
Good luck to everyone else in the unbearable TWW at the moment!
I guess it’s time to move over to this board. [name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to the new TTCers. I hope we all see 2 lines very soon!
I am turning 28 in [name_f]February[/name_f] and my husband is 35. My husband and I married in Oct 2015. I have been off BC since [name_f]May[/name_f] 2016 so I am starting the 8th month of my TTC journey. I have been seeing my dr already for fertility issues stemming from hypothyroidism. I am currently in my fertile window as far as I know. I have not started using OPKs as of yet though I have been debating on it. I try to temp every morning and use the Ovia app.
@namergirl3 I’m glad you have gotten some answers finally! I hope your meds help your cycle and everything else. Hypothyroidism is a major witch and I’m still fighting to control symptoms.
@eshe7fantasy: As bad as this sounds, I’m glad to see someone with similar issues! I’ve been feeling really isolated. As far as fertility, my doctor said that there could be a link between hypothyroidism and our TTC troubles, but I wasn’t sure
after hearing your story, sounds like there really could be a link. I hope it works out for all of us!
@minxtruck: I hope your finally get your positive! Keep us posted
@scarletsway: I hope you get your summer baby! Ideally, I’d love to have a summer baby as well, preferably born in [name_u]June[/name_u]. That’s the month I was born in but I’d like it for pretty much the opposite reason as you…my mom told me it was wonderful having an excuse to stay in with me from the heat and annoying family events…and I don’t fall far from the tree
at this point, though, just getting pregnant at all would be great.
@namergirl3 - unfortunately, AF arrived this morning so I’m officially out this cycle. I’m feeling a bit dejected after my first late period since we started TTC but hopefully I’ll be in better spirits when my next fertile period comes around.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone - just want to introduce myself (I know a few of ya from around the boards)! I’m [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] and my husband and I are on month 4 of trying - AF is supposed to arrive in 6 days, and this wait is killing me. We used an OPK this time around so I am crossing my fingers, but trying very hard not to get my hopes up. I know it is still very early to worry, but I can’t help but get let down. Here’s to hoping that 2017 brings all those who are trying some BD!! <3
@minxtruck: Awe, I’m sorry! Well, [name_m]New[/name_m] Year, new opportunities…I hope it happens for you really soon!
@bianca: [name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Hopefully your OPK use worked! Hang in there…the wait is hard, but hopefully it pays off!!
DH and I are starting the new year and new cycle off on a slow note. We still have lots of time, since AF ended just a couple of days ago, but he is completely uninterested in trying right now. He likes to stay up and not sleep, which means he is too tired to try most of the time. But I’m hopeful the trend will reverse soon…I think that we stand a better chance now that the stress of these last few months is over.
Nothing new to report here… after my last cycle of 119 days I thought maybe, just maybe, I’d have a regular cycle. Of course not! I’m on CD 43 and no signs of pregnancy or AF. This is beyond frustrating. I can’t wait for my annual appointment in [name_f]February[/name_f] - I hope my doctor will be more aggressive with testing and what not. [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] was really hard, so many pregnancy announcements and new babies dressed in [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] jammies! I can’t wait to experience that!
@lainy - Ugh, I am sorry to hear that. I hear you. [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] was definitely hard. I took a pregnancy test this morning (5 days before AF) but it was negative. I am hoping it is too soon, so trying to not feel let down yet but I can’t help it.
Has anyone taken maca powder before? I was looking into some natural ways to increase fertility, and I am going to give it a go. I used a teaspoon in my smoothie this morning. I’m willing to try just about anything, and hoping I can get DH to try it with me.
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to all the newbies!
@brenae-- I think using OPK’s definitely increases your chances, I’ve only used them once and didn’t have any luck, but I know plenty of others who have had great results while using them. Good luck!
@lainy-- I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling with tricky cycles…its beyond frustrating. The holidays can be tough too. I hope your dr appt goes well and you get what you need from your doctor. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t be afraid to be an advocate for yourself!
Well I’m officially in the tww. We were able to BD four times over my projected 8 day fertile period. Now I just have to wait which I’m notoriously terrible at :-/
