Ttc 2022

He gets home tonight and I had EWCM yesterday and a low OPK this morning. This is the best timing we’ve had in months, cross your fingers ladies! CD11 here!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, about to join the TTC club. I’ve got a 16-month-old son who was somewhat unplanned so we’ve never really ‘tried’ before, so it’ll be an interesting journey trying to give him a little brother or sister. We’re planning to stop at two for various reasons (though obviously if it happens to be multiples we’ll make it work!)

I just discovered hubby’s great grandmother’s name was [name_f]Evdokia[/name_f] (variant of Eudoxia). How cool! That one definitely belongs in the family name collecion bank! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Kibby good luck!! I really hope this is the one for you.

@SoJoCo welcome! I am terrified by even the thought of multiples, so I hope you get the one you are trying for!

I got my period right on time last [name_m]Thursday[/name_m], so I guess we are on to actually trying! I did have some symptoms (most notably SUPER tender breasts) on about 7-9 DPO and some unusually high temperatures, but on 10DPO I woke up with notably decreased symptoms, a lower temp, and started spotting. No idea if it was all in my head, or if there was a fertilized egg that just wasn’t quite right and my body took care of it, or if my spotting (/possible progesterone issue) didn’t allow for the egg to implant. I’m okay with the uncertainty, but I am definitely going to be noting if this is a pattern.

I have short cycles, so my next fertile window will likely be just after the 4th. We have people coming to stay for the holiday (including our 1 month old niece!) so it isn’t perfect timing but it will be fine. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is a love language of gifts person, and his anticipation is translating into buying things. [name_m]Just[/name_m] yesterday he bought a play water table that was on sale, and found a baby sled at a thrift store. I bought a playard off Marketplace for my sister in law who is having twins, and when I brought it home he said why didn’t I buy it for us!

Good luck!!

I had to laugh about buying baby stuff…that’s exactly what DH and I did! We had a long wait for our son but we used that time to buy a bunch of baby stuff. By the time he was born, we had a crib, a car seat, bedding, a 4 in 1 or whatever high chair, several totes of clothes (including handmedowns from friends), a swing (also from a friend), a stash of cloth diapers, a hygiene kit, pacifiers, bottles and a few other small things. It helped SO much because babies break the budget once they are born lol. People laughed but later told us they thought it was a good idea. Some we didn’t use but the majority of it we did! Btw, we got a cute little piggy bank and would put money in a bit over time to use towards baby stuff. That helped spread the cost out!

Not much happening here. CD 48 so this is looking like just another long cycle. I had increased hunger and cramping but I know that if AF coming eventually. I took several tests and all were negative. Back to the waiting game and we’ll see what the next cycle brings.

Sorry @Kibby, I completely missed your reply! No, I hadn’t had a hysteroscopy before. They did mine under light sedation too but, oh my god, it was painful. I was so uncomfortable they had to give me additional pain relief midway through the procedure. Although, the recovery was fine for me too. Mild cramps, even milder than the ones I had after my egg collection. You must be in the TWW now so I hope you’re feeling positive about this cycle.

@SoJoCo [name_u]Welcome[/name_u] and good luck for starting your journey for #2!

@_thelittlefairywren What a cool name to have in your family tree! [name_f]Evdokia[/name_f] would make an amazing middle name with the right first name.

@Beort12 You’re lucky your husband is happy to start collecting things for baby! [name_f]My[/name_f] OH doesn’t want to jump the gun until we’re actually pregnant so I can barely get him to talk about names, let alone start preparing ourselves with bits & pieces for a baby!

@namergirl3 The waiting game is hard enough when you have a 28-day cycle, can’t imagine how hard it is when you have long cycles like that. Keeping my fingers crossed that you’re not out this month, or that next cycle is the one for you.

Our doctor received the results from our biopsied embryos earlier than expected and emailed us the results today. If you’re over 40, the proportion of embryos that are abnormal and not suitable for transfer is around 80%, so I wasn’t holding my breath for good results considering we only had 2 embryos tested. However, we have beaten the odds and BOTH embryos are normal and suitable for transfer! :star_struck:

Our first transfer is confirmed for late-July so I should find out whether it’s implanted in early [name_u]August[/name_u]. :crossed_fingers:

Thank you! The only bright side is getting that long of a break from a period, lol, so I guess it isn’t all bad…

Wow, that’s such great news!!! You said first transfer so maybe that’s already answering my question but will you be transferring both embryos at once? This is so exciting!! Really hoping this is it for you, come [name_u]August[/name_u]!

@minxtruck he is a more tangible person - so he will not discuss names until I am pregnant, but can’t pass up anything he sees as a “deal”!

@namergirl3 if it takes us a while I fear (sort of) that is where we will be too! I am fine with picking up a small thing here and there, but I personally wouldn’t stockpile too much on my own. But it isn’t truly out of control yet, so I will let him have his fun and put my foot down if it gets to be way too much.

I’m not feeling too confident on our odds, usually I’m very aware that I’m pregnant by now! However I just started a new job last week and we submitted an offer on a house today!! So not being pregnant for moving/packing and a new new job is not the worst thing! Wish us luck please, I’m hoping the house negotiations go quick and smoothly.

As far as buying things goes, I only buy things when I’m pregnant, and he hasn’t made a baby related purchase ever (unless you count the SUV to fit the dogs and a baby). I’ve got a collection of onesies, some blankets and books (Astrophysics for Babies anyone?) and a BabyBox from Telus (cool program, not sure where or if it’s still active but definitely worth a google) But there’s no furniture or big items purchased yet. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom almost bought me a crib during my last pregnancy but I’m glad she didn’t, it would have sucked to have that laying around as a reminder, and now potentially having to move it. Ugh. I’m definitely excited to be able to buy things though, I find myself looking more and more at kids stuff online these days, I haven’t felt that kind of excitement in years in this process so it’s been fun!

No, in [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_u]Zealand[/name_u] (or, at least, with our fertility specialists) they only transfer one embryo at a time these days due to the additional risks for both mother and babies associated with multiples. The only time they’ll transfer two is when they embryos are low quality and unlikely to implant successfully anyway.

Thank you, I’ll probably post again to say how the transfer went and during my TWW, but I really hope I have some good news to share early [name_u]August[/name_u].

@kibby I hope the house negotiations went well! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I bought our first house this last winter and it was definitely up there in terms of my “most stressful experiences” list. Any news on if you had any luck baby-wise this month?

I think I am past ovulation now, so we will just wait and see. [name_f]My[/name_f] tracking app is currently saying I ovulated on CD 8, but I think it was actually CD 13. I am CD 14 today and only really saw something I would qualify as a temp shift today. Also CD 8 would be extremely early for me - I have very short (~25 day) cycles and I know some people do ovulate that early, but I have never seen evidence that I do.

@Beort12 hmm, yeah that would be an early ovulation date! It can certainly happen but you know your body best! Fingers crossed!

AF just arrived on CD 60, so I’m pleased at having a “short” cycle! I am cautiously hopeful that my body is starting to find its normal again.

It’s been a ride haha thank you for asking.
We did not get that first house. They wanted 120k over it’s worth and weren’t willing to negotiate so we walked away. But! We submitted an offer on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] for a different house and we just went pending with an accepted offer today!! Now it’s all down to numbers on paper and hopefully everything goes smoothly!
We did not conceive last cycle, and we both ended up with a cold or Covid this last week and a bit, however that meant he stayed home from work instead of going out of province, we are both feeling much better and I’m ovulating in the next week, so fingers crossed that we can make it happen!! It would be crazy if we conceived this week with everything else going on, but the next house is ideally the place we raise our babies!!

TTC is hard, but buying things keeps me sane…

@Kibby I hope you got the second house! And that you and your husband were feeling well enough to take advantage of ovulation.

[name_f]My[/name_f] app finally caught up and realized that I ovulated on day 12-ish, but I got my period on [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] so this cycle was a no go. I felt a lot more disappointed than I expected, not so much because it didn’t work but because this cycle was one day shorter, down to 24 days, and I spotted even longer than normal. [name_f]My[/name_f] charts and temps look pretty good, but I just can’t seem to lengthen my cycle or stop spotting. No one would ever deny that I am pretty type A to begin with, but I have really leaned into that and created a semi-ridiculous schedule of vitamins and supplements to take, as well as thinking extra hard about nutrients in my diet. [name_f]My[/name_f] stress level (currently), exercise, and weight all look good, so this is the only other thing I have any control over that I can try. If I give this a shot for a couple months and no luck I will go to my doctor, but I think she will have to refer me to someone else as she has no particular specialty in this area.

Of course this heatwave coincides with my window, no desire to have any sort of close body contact in 40c heat so may end up being a no-go this cycle

I have no clue when or even if I ovulate and still have very long cycles, so I don’t know when the cut off point for me is. Still, I think we are out, too. I’ve not only been sick but also am on a medication that doesn’t allow for trying… it sucks to not even have much of a shot but it is what it is. Getting closer to that year mark has us talking about our next steps and I think we are going to keep going on our own for awhile. I don’t want to get the doctor involved until we’ve been trying for significantly longer. That may change but that’s where we stand now.

@angelastella5 I caved and bought some baby clothes this week in the end of season sales. :see_no_evil:

I’m on CD15 of my frozen embryo replacement cycle now. Had my bloods/scan on [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], and my doctor was happy with the results, so my embyro transfer has been confirmed for [name_f]Monday[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] blood test won’t be until 5th [name_u]August[/name_u], but I should be able to do a HPT next weekend and see if wee embie has implanted. :grimacing: :crossed_fingers:

Thinking of everyone TTC this month, whether you’re waiting to do the BD, or in the TWW. :sparkles:

Never thought I’d be in here after having baby #1 just 9 months ago but I got my cycle back last week and we are talking about trying for #2

I was sure I was ovulating a couple of weeks before my first period so it’s great to know I can trust my instinct (and CM, lol).

I’m back home (with bub but without partner) for a month so I should have another cycle while I’m here and hopefully get a sense of when my fertile window will be. We concieved last time after some time apart so feeling hopeful we might have the same luck!

At the same time, the timing probably isn’t the best and if we were being sensible we would probably wait until mid next year-ish… but my neices who are 20 months apart are the absolute best of friends and also 2 neighbours who I was pregnant with (6 + 3 months ahead of me) are already pregnant with their seconds so it would kinda be cool to stay in sync with them and I am already so clucky  plus I’m 33 so don’t exactly have time on my side…

Anyway, no one in my life would probably understand or approve of us trying again so quickly so I am indulging myself here :joy:

[name_m]Trigger[/name_m] warning HPT

I’m now 4dp5dt (frozen cycle) and, even though I knew it was probably still too early to test at home, I caved this morning and took an HPT. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a faint, but definite pink line! I’m not going to tell anyone yet, even my partner, until at least tomorrow or [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] to make sure that line is getting darker but omg… I could actually be pregnant!! :smiling_face_with_tear:

Please please please be a sticky little one :crossed_fingers:
