While I’m not considering this personally, I found it intriguing to think about, especially with the abundance of flower names out there:
Tulipa – pronounced too-lee-puh or too-lih-puh. This is the portuguese word for tulip (with too-lee-puh prn) as well as the scientific name. I think it makes the idea of tulip-as-a-name a little more accessible and prefer the “lee” prn over the “lih”.

I’m not a fan of it. I don’t mean this to sound rude but at first glance I read it as tilapia (the fish).

It does kinda sound like tilapia…
I like the sound of Tulipa pronounced like “TOO-lih-pa” with the same flow as [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. So… maybe Tulippa would appeal to me a bit more?
If you were living in Portugal, or Spain, or [name_f]Italy[/name_f], “too-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-pa” would be interesting, but I don’t really like it.
One of my best friends growing up has the middle name [name_f]Tulip[/name_f]. I think it’s pretty cool! I’d take [name_f]Tulip[/name_f] over Tulipa.
I know someone named [name_f]Twyla[/name_f] (twee-la) which is sort of similar, too.
Hearing this name gives me the image of a tulip which is romantic etc but the name looks and sounds a bit lumpy to me.
