Tweaking The Combos

FNs with no MNs: [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_f]Agnes[/name_f].

All FNs will stay the same, but feel free to tweak the middles as much as you’d like  If you have suggestions on what FNs I should add to my list, feel free to share them as well.

On a side note; do you pronounce [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] as [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-el-line ([name_f]Madeline[/name_f] without the M) or [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-el-leen?

I’m just going to add some middles to your middle-less firsts.

[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]: This one reminds me of the old west!
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]: I can picture this as a great name for an Edwardian lady.

[name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]: I can smell the mothballs coming off of this combo. Although, I know you like “old lady” names.
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]: Is it weird that I’m getting the image of a woman in the early 1900’s at the Kentucky [name_u]Derby[/name_u] in her large, fluffy hat?

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Corrine[/name_f]: I feel like this could easily be a modern baby name.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]: A more vintage version of the above combo!

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]: Cute without being “cutesy.”
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]: Streamlined combo with no frills.

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]: Definitely a more vintage combo. [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] was #6 in popularity in 1921!

[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]: I feel like playful, flowery [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] balances serious [name_f]Viola[/name_f] out while still maintaining an old fashioned feel.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]: I like the flow, although I’m not sure if the styles of these two match.

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]: I pronounce it [name_m]Add[/name_m]-el-een. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is my favorite gem name, and I think it flows well with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]: [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] picking Irises in a field? [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], I think.

[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]: I could picture this as the name of someone’s grandmother, but it’s cute all the same.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f]: [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is one of my favorite classics and takes [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] away from Australia. Lol
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]: Too much L?

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]: I still don’t like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] that much (no matter how cute [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] from Despicable Me is…) I think [name_f]Leona[/name_f] makes it more likable (to me) though.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]: A vintage combo if I’ve ever seen one! [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] was #37 in 1899 and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] was #17 from 1912-1914.

All these popularity numbers are from the US as that’s where I live, I’m not sure about [name_f]Canada[/name_f]!

@oiseau - thank you! As far as I know, we just use US stats, because I have yet to find a government issued popularity list for [name_f]Canada[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] (I prefer [name_m]Add[/name_m]-el-leen myself too :P), [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f], and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. It’s also so nice of you to get popularity stats for some of them too! I love [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] but it’s the name of my mum’s sister (my aunt), so I feel like it might be out of the running for me, haha.
