[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! My sister is expecting twin baby girls in Dec and I think the names are settled. Husband is big on honor names and with their son they honored him and my mom. His name is [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]Max[/name_u] (called [name_u]Max[/name_u]). For these twins they wanted to honor the dads which makes it slightly tricky because they are girls.
They have chosen:
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
dads are [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_m]William[/name_m]. [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is after his mom [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] is after me the sister
They like them a lot, but she wanted to see what the berries thought!! Other ways to honor the dads?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_f]Willa[/name_f] however I would use michaela instead of [name_u]Micah[/name_u] my only reason is michaela is for more girly looking and sounding to match [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f], but [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is a boy’s name to me, so I agree that it’s not the best match for Willa.
[name_f]Michaela[/name_f], [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], and [name_u]Misha[/name_u] are other options (but I guess [name_u]Misha[/name_u] is technically masculine too). Or they could switch the order around if they don’t like those as firsts. Also looks like they have honored dad but not mom, maybe hers is something useable.
This! [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is very sweet, but [name_u]Micah[/name_u] seems so boyish in comparison! If I met twins named [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u], I’d assume instantly that [name_u]Micah[/name_u] was a boy, probably 95% because I used to love [name_u]Micah[/name_u] for a boy.
I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] is gorgeous. I’ve lately been really loving [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], though. I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] pair off of each other so well, too. I might switch the middle names, though–[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]–as I’d expect [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] to have been born sometime in the 90s. I don’t think [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]'s particularly dated, but with [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] it sort of feels like it. I like that with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], they both feel equally timeless.
I’ll probably be in the minority here, but I really like them both and as a pair! [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is traditionally a boy’s name, and I usually don’t love gender-swapping, but I recently had a female student named [name_u]Micah[/name_u] who has changed my opinion. She wears her name so easily and it definitely feels feminine. When I first read your post, I forgot that [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is not traditionally a girl’s name! [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] are so sweet together.
I agree that [name_u]Micah[/name_u] seems very boy to me, especially compared to girly [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] to [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], think it’s very underused these days but ttally wearable and sweet.
I agree with several pps that [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is lovely but [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is all boy to me and doesn’t sit well next to [name_f]Willa[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as a pair - just beautiful. Only [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] spelt like this though! Another idea is [name_f]Micheline[/name_f].
Look I personally love [name_u]Micah[/name_u] for a girl however with brother [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] and sister [name_f]Willa[/name_f], I agree with the suggestion of [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] look gorgeous!
Another option might be [name_u]Mika[/name_u] pronounced with a long E or with the long I. This spelling would clarify that both were girls even the Michah pronunciation was used.
I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]! [name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], not so much. [name_m]How[/name_m] about using the ending sound of [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. That opens up more possibilities.
I also endorse the suggestion of [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] that several people have made. I would add that it would coordinate very nicely with a sister named [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], which I love for its blend of vintage and contemporary and the repeating “l” sounds.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and much prefer it with [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. My only thought on [name_u]Micah[/name_u]/[name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] is that they both have the same first syllable (Mic/[name_u]Nic[/name_u]). I’m not sure if that matters to your sister.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] sound sweet together. And I think [name_u]Micah[/name_u] translates very well into girl territory because it ends in the ‘a’ sound.
I love that they are honor names and thus have a story.
I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u]/[name_u]Mika[/name_u] are beautiful twin girl names! I love that they’re honour names, different from the original names, but obviously honouring! I particularly like the name [name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], tho as a pp suggested I’d prefer the spelling [name_u]Mika[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Micah[/name_u] for a girl! Perhaps a more neutral variant of [name_m]William[/name_m] would make them fit together a bit better - [name_u]Micah[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f]?
I love [name_u]Micah[/name_u] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] together. I’ve known both male and female [name_u]Micah[/name_u]'s and I think it works either way. I much prefer [name_u]Micah[/name_u] to other’s suggestions of [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] sound dated when you put them together, but [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] sound modern and fun. If they’re worried about people mistaking it for a boy’s name or want something a little more feminine looking, perhaps the spelling [name_u]Mica[/name_u] might help, but to be perfectly honest I think either [name_u]Micah[/name_u] or [name_u]Mica[/name_u] are completely fine. If they love it they should go for it. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] sound like such a fun, spunky pair.
Would there be strong opposition to [name_u]Mika[/name_u] (with a long e sound) instead of [name_u]Micah[/name_u]? I think it sounds a little softer and pairs better with [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. Good luck!
