I like both names a lot. They are traditional/timeless but not boring, and modern at the same time. They are also very nicely balanced in looks and length, but not matchy. I also like that the middle names both start with the smae letter instead of the first names, it seems to connect them without being matchy. And both middle names offer lots of nickname options!!

Ooh, one of my great-great grandfathers was named [name]Carl[/name] [name]Friedrich[/name] (with a second middle name, [name]August[/name]), as was his father (no second middle) - I always thought that name sounded quite regal
