Twin boys, need help with vote

my big sister expecting twin boys in [name]July[/name], yet cannot decide which names she’ll giving to them

for now she’s in love with [name]Keenan[/name] & [name]Darren[/name],
but her DH prefer Akhtar (AHK-tahr) & Rayyan (rye-yahn), each means star & radiant face

the boys will have big sister named Adrinna Mayzuha (yes adrinna, not adrianna)

they haven’t think any MN yet…so MN suggestion will be very appreciated^^
what do you think??

What about [name]Keenan[/name] Akhtar and [name]Darren[/name] Rayyan? I think DH’s choices will be mispronounced all the time but fit quite nicely as middle names - this way they both get their names - it’s how we decided our childrens names!

This is a difficult one to advise on, because it’s not just an issue of sound and meaning. There’s a clear language/culture gap here.

All I’ll note is that Akhtar will be easily pronounced. Rayyan will be mispronounced with “ray”, or if heard, could be mistaken for [name]Ryan[/name]. Considering the rise in use of, for example, Irish names with far more opaque spellings, I wouldn’t let that be a deal killer.

And what does Mayzuha mean? Googling it only gets this thread, and that’s the first time I’ve ever had that happen with a name.

I like the previous posters suggestion of using Akhtar and Rayyan as middle names. I think it would make the kids lives a lot easier to have easier to pronounce first names. [name]Keegan[/name] Akhtar and [name]Darren[/name] Rayyan sound okay. She might consider not using two names with the same -n ending. I like [name]Keegan[/name], [name]Darren[/name] is a little dated.
