Found out I’m expecting identical twin boys.
[name_f]My[/name_f] sons name is [name_u]Declan[/name_u] [name_u]John[/name_u]
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is pretty dead set on having one of them named [name_m]Ayrton[/name_m] (pronounced ‘Air-ton’)
I was thinking of the name [name_m]Auryn[/name_m] (pronounced ‘or-in’)
What are your thoughts on this combo for identical twin boys?
Middle names will probably be [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m].
So probably [name_m]Ayrton[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Auryn[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m].
TIA
They are a little close soundwise but really nice if its not too close for you!

I think they’re good names and flow well to middle names but I probably wouldn’t use them for identical twins - I think it’s cool for parents but as a twin myself, you’re already similar/identical and connected in so many ways (often called “the twins” etc) that I don’t know if having almost identical names is the way to go? I’m not sure on this one! That and you’ll have people trip up on them a fair bit.

Congratulations! I mix up my son’s names and they’re very different. I think those are two close to keep straight for me.

I think they are too close for twin boys. I love your choice of middle names though.

[name_m]Ayrton[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Auryn[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] are visually a bit close for me (especially since [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u] have the same meaning/origins) but sound wise they work and I do like the first names. I’d be tempted to do [name_m]Oran[/name_m] or [name_m]Orson[/name_m] - similar in sound, just visually more distinct

I think they’re too close for twins/siblings. Twins are grouped together in so many ways that I think it is better to choose names that are not matchy, but complementary to each other. It’s important to encourage and celebrate individuality, especially for twins.

They seem too close and not like real names.

I like [name_m]Auryn[/name_m], but having the same first and middle initials and similar sounding names is a bit much, especially for twins.
