We don’t know the gender of our twins just yet (although I feel like they are definitely girls!) but I am already dreaming up names.
My top pick for a girl and what my son would have been called if he was a girl is [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m].
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] because it is my favourite name, [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] for my mother and [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m] is my mother’s maiden name. We did the same with my son, called him [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] because we loved it, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] for my husband’s father and Whitby for my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s maiden name.
We do feel like [name_f]Leda[/name_f] is probably going to get used if we do have girls but I am at a loss to find a name that I feel sounds right. So far we have…
The middles are non negotiable for us as [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is my husband’s mother’s name and [name_m]Fox[/name_m] was my paternal grandmother’s maiden name.
Please suggest any names you think might be right!
I loved the suggestion of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and just wanted to throw my hat in with that one. Beautiful, sweet combo!
From your list I feel [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is the best with twin [name_f]Leda[/name_f]. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is quite gorgeous and has that understated elegance of [name_f]Leda[/name_f]. [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is too alike, and too long with [name_f]Leda[/name_f]. [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] goes ok but I’m not a fan.
From your list, I think [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is too matchy with [name_f]Leda[/name_f]. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is stunning!
I think [name_f]Leda[/name_f] and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] are perfect! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t call her twin [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], they are too matchy-matchy. Here are some suggestions you may like:
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] or [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], I say. They go so nicely with [name_f]Leda[/name_f], but [name_f]Mab[/name_f]el slightly runs into Evelyn, which would bugged me eternally.
Is [name_f]Blanche[/name_f] an option? I guess [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m] does have family significance, and [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m] sounds beautiful, but I would suggest [name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Blanche[/name_f]. Wouldn’t that honor you family as well?
While I love [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] myself, I think that [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is a great combo, that works beautifully with [name_f]Leda[/name_f]. [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_f]Leda[/name_f] & [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] make for one great sibling trio.
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and [name_f]Leda[/name_f] have a Germanic-storybook character to them, to me, so I’m going to suggest a few I think fit that spare, storytale, slightly enchanted yet sophisticated feel:
[name_f]Odile[/name_f] - [name_f]Leda[/name_f] & [name_f]Odile[/name_f] sound great as twin names!
Isola
[name_f]Satine[/name_f]
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
Luneve
[name_m]Sindri[/name_m]
[name_f]Tosca[/name_f]
Dunia - (dew-nya)
[name_f]Helene[/name_f]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
Cymbele
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
Solvei
Cyrene
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
I do like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] too! I’m just not sure it’s as lilting as [name_f]Leda[/name_f]! But perhaps that is not a worry…good luck!
