I am expecting twin girls in [name_u]December[/name_u]! First time parent here, and am having trouble coming up with names. I wanted to try to include [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] as a middle name, as it would pay homage to my grandmother. Is it too odd to have their middle names the same?
Some of my favourite names include, [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_u]London[/name_u], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband isn’t so keen on these names. He prefers [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], and [name_f]Norah[/name_f]. I loved [name_f]Summer[/name_f], but as they will be born in winter it doesn’t really work.
I have always said I would not want rhyming names or names starting with the same letter, but I am wiling to explore many new suggestions and styles!
Maybe instead of having the same middle name you could give them both a name that incorporates [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], such as [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Lynette[/name_f]? That way you get the link but each child gets their own name too.
From the choices that you and your husband like, I think [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] would make a sweet pair! That would give each of you a name you like!
Maybe…
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Lynette[/name_f]?
I absolutely adore [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] together! I love your idea of incorporating [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] into the middle name as well- thank you!
I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]! I prefer [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] over [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]!
I think you could use [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] as a middle name for both. Alternatively you could use [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] names - [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f], Faithlyn, [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Lynna[/name_f], [name_u]Lyndsey[/name_u], [name_f]Avalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Maelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Raelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Ellyn[/name_f] etc so they both have thar family link but also their own name. Another idea is using [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] for one and [name_u]Lake[/name_u] for the other as [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] means lake
Trying to combine what both of you like. Let me know what you think.
Brooklyn
Mila
Nova
Paris
Eleanora
Winter
Senna
Lily
Leah
Adeline
Of those I like twins…
Lily and Leah (I know they are the same letter but they are adorable)
Winter and Brooklyn
Nova and Lily
Senna and Paris
Eleanora and Brooklyn
Mila and Lily
Adeline and Eleanora
Nova and Adeline
Paris and Leah
Genius idea of using [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_u]Lake[/name_u]! [name_f]My[/name_f] mother in laws name is [name_u]Julie[/name_u], and using [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] could be an alternative as a middle name. That way, my husband and I could both be able to have part of our family in the girl’s names.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] really are adorable! I didn’t think I would like it that much! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] could work?
Thank you so much for everyone’s advice and names!
I have fallen in love even more with Savannah. My husband has warmed up to it and doesn’t hate it, which is perfect because he is very picky. Any suggestions to go with Savannah?
i love [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]!
twin for her based on names you like:
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (since you like [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]! plus it includes “Lyn” at the end, love this one )
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_f]Viviana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (since you like Vivian)
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (since your husband likes [name_f]Norah[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] could be a nn)
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Nolia[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f], Maggie)
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] / [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilliana[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (nn Lily)
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] & [name_u]London[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
I love love how you added the [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] to [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]! You’re right, it’s lovely! I really like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] as well, is it too much ‘S’ with both names though?
im glad you like it! [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] & [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] would be lovely together and yess i love how they both share the “Lyn” in their full names!
i also love [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] & [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and almost didn’t include that one because you said you didn’t like to choose same initials names but i decided to include it anyway bc it’s a lovely combo and while they both start with S, they are very different names so i don’t think it would be too much
hope this helps!
I wouldn’t do the same middles. Twins always end up fighting to find their individuality so I personally would give them each something unique that they’ll have for themselves.
First name suggestions:
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Amber[/name_f]
[name_u]Zoe[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Paisley[/name_u]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
Middle Name suggestions that are variations of [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]:
[name_f]Madelynn[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_u]Lake[/name_u] (Lynn means Lake)
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]
Another idea would be to use grandmom’s middle name for twin #2, so that way her full name is with both of your girls.
Thank you for the advice on middles! I totally understand what you are saying with individuality. [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] go gorgeously together! [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmothers middle name was [name_f]Helena[/name_f], (pronounced Ha-lay-na) and I love the way it sounds with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. No to mention, the girls will be winter babies and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] means [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are really sweet together! Another idea is instead of directly using [name_u]Lake[/name_u], you could choose another name that has a water meaning, such as:
[name_f]Laguna[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Nimue[/name_f]
And [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], also from your list!
Some cute combos:
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_u]London[/name_u] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]
[name_u]Blaire[/name_u] [name_f]Laguna[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]
