Twin girl names - last round ;)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone,

Back again for some more advice.

We have a toddler named [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. We are having identical twin girls in the next 2 weeks!! We love our first daughters name and would love to find names for the twins with a similar vintage/Hollywood style that is also beautiful and ideally a little bit sassy or spunky.

The middle names will be [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] for their two grandmothers.

After great contemplation and after mulling over the amazing suggestions I have gotten from nameberry, at this time our top choices are:

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]

Our last name is quite long so we are looking for a one or two syllable first name preferably. I adore the name [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and was very close to going with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] but after chatting to some twins and twin mums we have decided there is just too much of a risk they will find it annoying being mixed up as [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and ivy. So I begrudgingly have let [name_f]Eve[/name_f] go!

[name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is that maybe doesn’t have as much sass/spunk as Scarlett/Ivy. Also some users have commented that grace is a bit “blah” or sounds stuck up. So I just wanted to contemplate some other options as well.

Here are a few others we came up with:

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Jade[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]

Would love to know your thoughts and see if you had any other names to suggest that would satisfy our wish list!

Also, we like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] almost as much as [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f], so feel free to suggest names that go with [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] as well.

Thank you!!

For what it’s worth I love [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! It’s so sweet and it does fit with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] too! Of your other choices, [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is my favorite though

I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! Don’t worry about it, they go great together, all being word names!

I think Grace is very sweet with Scarlett and Ivy. I also really like Faye! I think Faye may have a bit more of the vibe you’re going for but they both work beautifully.

If you were to choose Faye instead, I would do Faye Annelise and Ivy Carolyn.:two_hearts:

I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] works fine! But if you want something with more sass, I’d go with [name_f]Faye[/name_f]!

[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] came to mind

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] is so pretty and just my style that I squealed a little when I saw it! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband things [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] is frilly, unfortunately, but gah! Combo is gorgeous!

I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] makes a very sweet sibling to [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. Though [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] isn’t my style, I think it definitely works. Personally, I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is spunky and sparkly and STRONG, but I’m kind of looking at the religious connotations as a [name_u]Christian[/name_u], so that may be where I’m getting that.

To me, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] all have that spark! I love [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] – [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] would also be a sibset I’d go with. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is also pretty!

I don’t know … you’ve got some gorgeous names here. I feel like you can’t go wrong!

I LOVE [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] together! Never been the biggest fan of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] tbh. Probably because I went to school with so many growing up.

I love your idea of [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]! Although I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] & [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] would be my favorite set !!! I just think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Faye[/name_f] would be SO perfect together. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] definitely has that old Hollywood + nature-y vibe that [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] have! Best of luck :orange_heart:

I love the theme you are going for! & btw your Scarlett Jean’s name is adorable.

I don’t think Grace has as much sass & spunk as Ivy & Scarlett however. Although I could be biased since Grace isn’t my personal favorite.

However from your list, I absolutely adore:
Autumn Carolyn
Ayla Carolyn
Ava Carolyn
Jade Carolyn
Faye Carolyn

These also work with Annelise as the middle:
Autumn Annelise (beautiful vibes & alliteration without running into each other)
Jade Annelise
Faye Annelise
Ava Annelise

Here are some more spunky suggestions!
Lola
Vivia
Vida
Vada / Veda (vay-dah)
Poppy
Alma
Alba
Violet
Verity
Vera
Giselle
Rose / Rosie
Willa
Opal
Dahlia
Nina
Ruby
Diana
Cora
Cleo
Bonnie
Mara
Pearl / Perla

Best of luck to you! :purple_heart:

I think that [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] would be awesome for twins since they’re both nature names. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] and [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] sound so good together

I would mention again that [name_u]Anne[/name_u] means [name_f]Grace[/name_f], so you could do [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as the honor name, I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and you could do something with more snap for the first name of your other girl like [name_f]Gia[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]

the more i think about grace the more it grows on me, but i also agree that it doesn’t have the same character as scarlett and ivy. i don’t agree that it’s stuck up or blah, although certainly where i live (england) there are a lot of graces, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a very pretty name.

from your options my favourite is faye carolyn, it has a magical / nature feel that matches perfectly with ivy, and the vintage vibe of scarlett! i prefer ivy annelise, but that’s partly because carolyn just isn’t a personal favourite.

some more names you could consider are diana carolyn, elsa carolyn, alta carolyn, chloe annelise, eleanor carolyn, and edie annelise.

[name_u]Jade[/name_u] has a lot of spunk! Also love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is a fun spunky option too!

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] & [name_u]Jade[/name_u] have my vote! I love the way they sound paired with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].

Also I totally agree with the opinion of [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!

Congratulations as you near the girls’ due date!

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] is perfect, just so sweet & sophisticated. I don’t feel [name_f]Grace[/name_f] has the same level of spunk & style that [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] both carry. While [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is sweet, it does seem a bit expected and dated. Often times a common middle name, like [name_f]Grace[/name_f], used as a first name can be refreshing, but I would say that [name_f]Grace[/name_f] has had years of being very popular as first name and now it’s very popular as a middle name. Personally, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] feels like the odd one out when compared to [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. I see [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a twin with a [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or an [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

These come to mind for similar style:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]

I know I’ve mentioned this before but going to suggest again; I really love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] for you. If I had a grandmother [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], I would look no further than [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as a way to honor her. It’s such a sweet and cheerful classic. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] reminds me much of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] in style. I suggest [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] is so sweet! I also love [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], [name_u]Jade[/name_u] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]. [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] could be cute, too.

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are my favorites of the ones you chose and I think they work best with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].

I do also like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and Elosie, or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Jade[/name_u].

As some have written above, I agree that [name_f]Grace[/name_f] lacks the spunk and sass alongside her sisters [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I much prefer [name_f]Faye[/name_f] or [name_f]Celeste[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] would be perfect ! A great sibling set for sure. Either way, you cannot go wrong with [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Haha I love this forum so much!

You guys are great

Thank you for such awesome feedback thus far! I find it so so helpful!!!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] in response to the person that suggested using [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as the namesake instead of [name_u]Anne[/name_u] since they have the same meaning, that is for my mother in law and she will be very offended I think if we use [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] but not [name_u]Anne[/name_u].

And in regards to [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], I know it is tricky. I find it a hard middle name to match to also. It is for my mother who tragically passed away a few months ago and won’t even get to meet the girls :frowning: So it’s particularly important to us to include it in one of the names. We did consider it as a first name (as well as [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or even Coraline) and to be honest, if we went that route we would do [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] I think! But we just don’t love the nicknames available for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (or the others) and it is a three syllable name which we were leaning away from. But I do see the appeal! And for a middle name we felt [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] was as nice as [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] so were just going to stick with it as [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f].

Of your list I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], it just feels so lively and fun, reminiscent of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] at the Plaza, but at the same is sounds very classy (and not too tied to the character either).

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and think it goes nicely with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but maybe doesn’t have the same spunkiness to it.

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] & [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
