Twin Girl Names!! Need some help!!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, so my fiance and i just recently found out we are having identical twin girls!! so exciting!!

We have 2 names picked out but i just need some opinions.
We have picked [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] & [name_f]Julia[/name_f].

[name_f]Julia[/name_f] is my mom’s name and we really like the name [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

I just wonder sometimes though even though I’ve always wanted to use the name [name_f]Julia[/name_f] now i kind of feel bad because we have discussed that we would only ever use his mom’s name as a middle name. ([name_f]Yvonne[/name_f])

I just don’t know if that would be offensive if we named one of our babies after my mom and just used her name as a middle name for [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

We were thinking [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] & [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. but then i feel like it looks obvious that we are just trying to put her name in there so she doesn’t feel bad. Maybe I’m overthinking it but i know she would never say anything and we’ve had a great relationship so far and I just wouldn’t want to offend her ever in any way…

Give me some opinions please!!

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] shares some sounds with [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] and it means olive tree (while [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] means yew wood), so technically, the two names are connected by woody/natury meanings and by the ‘iv’ sound

That’s kind of sensitive territory, especially since you have the opportunity to use both grandmothers name. Personally, I would use [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] in the middle spots so they are on equal territory. But if that’s not for you, the names you chose are lovely together. This may not be your style, but could [name_f]Yulia[/name_f] be an option? [name_f]Yulia[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] also sound cute together.

There’s four options I see here-

  1. Use [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and face potential but not guaranteed wrath
  2. Use [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and forgo [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
  3. Use names with similar meanings ([name_f]Juliana[/name_f] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] , [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] or [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] would be great if unmatched siblings)
  4. Forgo both honor names and just pick names you both like ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and _____ )

Personally I think Option 3 would be the best. It would save any potenial upset and you’d get your honor names. Personally I love the sound of [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] ([name_m]Ives[/name_m] means the same as [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] so [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is similar).

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Julie[/name_u] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] would also be great.
