twin girls : Audrey and Claudia

We are expecting twin girls (hooray!) and as I got my own way in chosing our 18 month old’s name - [name]Tess[/name] [name]Maisie[/name], my hubby wants in on the naming game. We like old fashioned names.

We both agree on [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Eva[/name] and my husband love [name]Claudia[/name] [name]Alice[/name], and I thought it was really pretty UNTIL I found out that [name]Claudia[/name] means lame or disabled!

Apparently [name]Claudia[/name] also means ‘dazzling’ in Italian which is lovely, but I can’t get this verified. Does anyone know??

[name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] I though was really sweet for our little ladies.

My other twin-set favourite was [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name], but I think we prefer [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name].

So we will have [name]Tess[/name], [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] as siblings.

What do y’all think???

I adore [name]Audrey[/name]. But I don’t really love [name]Claudia[/name]. It’s OK. What about [name]Iris[/name]? Or [name]Vita[/name]? Or [name]Opal[/name]?

I [name]LOVE[/name] your combo of [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name]. They sound great with [name]Tess[/name]. I love that the names are in the same vein but with different endings.
[name]Claudia[/name] is beautiful and underused.
go for it!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name], but not a fan of [name]Claudia[/name].

What about [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]? I love them together, especially with [name]Tess[/name]!

I agree, I’m not loving [name]Claudia[/name] (alone or with [name]Audrey[/name]). I do [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Audrey[/name] with [name]Tess[/name] though. What about using [name]Blythe[/name] or [name]Emmeline[/name]? Or something like [name]Jane[/name] (nn [name]Janie[/name]), [name]Leah[/name], or [name]Elaina[/name]

I love [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name] together, but on the fence about [name]Claudia[/name]. Of all the names you mentioned (both first and middle) I think [name]Tess[/name], [name]Alice[/name], and [name]Emmeline[/name] would be a beautiful combo.

I really, really like [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name]. Honestly, don’t stress about the meaning. It’s a really nice sounding name, and I think it’s really cool that it has a similar sound to [name]Audrey[/name] without sounding too matchy. I think it’s perfect for twins.

[name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] are okay too, though. I’m not a big fan of those names together for twins, but I think [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] could be nice together too.

I don’t mind [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] separately, but they’re [name]WAY[/name] too close in sound to be siblings, much less twins. What if they went by nicknames [name]Aude[/name] and [name]Claude[/name]? I would use one or the other and pick another name for her twin.

[name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] are nice seperaty but they are a little to similar sounding for twins imo. It is the [name]AUD[/name]-y part that is in both name that is just too similar.

I would keep [name]Audrey[/name], as I think it does perfectly with [name]Tess[/name] and look for another name. [name]Emmeline[/name] would work well with [name]Audrey[/name] also.
[name]How[/name] about:

[name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] are both lovely, but I agree that the repeated “aud” sounds are too similar. I think that the names work well together stylistically, though, and I especially like [name]Audrey[/name] with [name]Tess[/name]. What about [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name], or [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name]? The first two sets are my favorites, but I think that [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] are the best with [name]Tess[/name]…

[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Eva[/name]

[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Claudia[/name]

[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Eva[/name]

[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Eva[/name]

Good luck!

Another vote for [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] sounding too similar. I love [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name].

I absolutely love [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name]; they’re the top names on my girl’s list for my partner and I. [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name] sound beautiful together and I don’t find too much of a similarity in the pronunciations - it may be because I’m Australian and the au sound isn’t overly stressed; they have different inflections!

Your choice of names in wonderful

[name]Tess[/name] [name]Maisie[/name] is so cute !
Sorry I’m not really a fan of [name]Claudia[/name], but I think [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] both go very well with [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name].

[name]Tess[/name], [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] sound lovely.
I really like the sound of [name]Claudia[/name], but the meaning bothers me too. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Lydia[/name]? It has some similar sounds to [name]Claudia[/name] without the negative meaning and the “aud” repetition from [name]Claudia[/name].

Thanks everyone! It’s definitely tricky and we are lucky we have 3 more months to decide.

irisrose it’s so funny that you say [name]Aude[/name] and [name]Claude[/name] because that’s the first thing my sister said!

[name]Even[/name] though we are Australian, we have decided if we go with [name]Claudia[/name], her nickname will be ‘[name]Cloudy[/name]’ : like the weather.

My favourites are [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name], but because I got to name [name]Tess[/name] and maybe [name]Audrey[/name], hubby really wants in and he is smitten with [name]Claudia[/name].

I think we will just have to sit on it and wait and see.

At least we are down to four names this time and not the 25 or so from last time!
