Hello all,
After bringing home 6 bouncing baby boys, we are finally expecting TWO little girls. We are looking for a cute, not common, biblical subset for our twins. Our boys all have biblical names followed by more modern middle names.
[name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_u]Jamison[/name_u]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Ash[/name_u]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Dawson[/name_m]
Names we are considering:
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]Addison[/name_u] & [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_u]Britton[/name_u]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Alise[/name_f] & [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
My favorite is [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but my husband hates it. Says it is “too old”
What do you think ?
I like all three of the matches you’ve already made! [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is definitely my favorite set! They are beautiful alone, together and with your boys. Congratulations and good luck!!
I like a lot of the names you are considering, but I find [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] too matchy and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are even too matchy as twin names for me. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] together would be cute. I do find [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] a little bit “old” but not terribly so. I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is nice too. I would suggest [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Selah[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
I also find [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] too similar in sound, but mixing up the combos so that there is one “E” and one “R” name is still cute and on theme. ([name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u], or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f])
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] sound great together, the “L” sound helps them match, but doesn’t seem over the top to me.
more suggestions: [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], Aibgail, [name_f]Judith[/name_f], [name_f]Anthea[/name_f].
From your list I would use:
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] & [name_f]Leah[/name_f]
Suggestions:
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] & [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Sarai[/name_f] & [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] ([name_f]Hannah[/name_f] means grace so they would share the same meaning with their first names!)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]
I agree with the poster who said [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] feel too matchy together (especially [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] when [name_f]Eve[/name_f] lived in [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. That’s just kind of odd when you think about it, like naming your kids [name_m]Moses[/name_m] and [name_u]Egypt[/name_u].) But like pp said, I think any other combination of those four (especially [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]/[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_u]Eden[/name_u]) sounds great. I also quite like your [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] option.
I would go with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] sound too trendy next to your son’s names and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sounds old-fashioned.
I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! It is a lovely Biblical name and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is adorable. I agree that [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_u]Eden[/name_u] is a weird combo. My favorite biblical name is [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
I find [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] far too matchy (both E’s, both very clearly Biblical) but also mis-matched in terms of style, if that makes sense? [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is the definition of classic, understated and elegant, while [name_u]Eden[/name_u] feels much more modern and trendy.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are both gorgeous names but again I’m not crazy about their matchiness on twins (two R’s, both 1 syllable).
I think [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] are a much more subtly connected sibset. Both have a similar structure but different sounds, and they feel more on the same level stylistically than [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. I’d pick this pairing!
