Hello! We just found out we’re having twin girls! Probably fraternal, but it’s still possible that they’ll be identical. Now they need names! Our girl name from my first pregnancy was [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] and we still love it. DH’s favorite grandpa was [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] so the [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] works as a family name as well as an [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] literary name. Our 3 year old son is [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] and out last name is one syllable and starts with a Y. [name_f]My[/name_f] main problem is that all of the names I really like end with an A. [name_u]Lucky[/name_u] for me DH and I agree on names pretty much.
These are all family names that I also like.
[name_f]Stefanya[/name_f] - my beloved grandma, also went by Stevia (like the sweetener.) I don’t know which name I like better, but I’m also unsure if it’s wise to saddle a girl with either of these names. Are they too much?
[name_f]Mildred[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] more but DH insists that if a name ends in an X than the girl will be a stripper. LOL
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] is lovely, it sounds very literary, as does [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Eliot[/name_u].
I like all of the names listed above, particularly [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (I totally disagree with your husband on the X/stripped phenomena - [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] makes me think of Ms. [name_m]Potter[/name_m], the children’s novelist). One concern I might have is that [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are rather similar.
I love most of your list!
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] - this is my least favourite.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - Another name I don’t love
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
Some twin sets:
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (unless you name [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] in which case [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Lenore[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
Pairings:
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - this was the first one I thought of because I used to have a combo on my list that was [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I still have it, just it’s not as high on the list. But [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Y is nice.
Wait. Your last name is 1 syllable? Then I would cross out all FN that are one syllable (sorry [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]).
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] - [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are a bit close.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is really nice! [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]/ce works too!
I don’t love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] or [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] personally, and I find it too difficult to pair names I don’t love.
[name_f]Stefanya[/name_f] - [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] ([name_f]Stefanie[/name_f]?) or [name_f]Anya[/name_f]? If not, then, in the middle place, I think this would be ok as long as it was paired with a shorter fn, like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] (but we crossed [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] out. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Stefanya[/name_f] is quite the name and is doesn’t work smoothly with many names, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I wouldn’t use Stevia because of the sweetener association. Another thought is to use “[name_f]Anya[/name_f]”. I’m also finding it difficult to work with [name_f]Mildred[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] are especially cute together. I also like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_u]Juniper[/name_u].
Congratulations! I, too, have twin girls - you will be one busy mama! I like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] the best as a sister to [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] have lots of spunky and energy and sweetness combined! Could you use just the - ‘anya’ from Stephanya? I think [name_f]Anya[/name_f] would be a fabulous middle name, especially with [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]. [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is great, imo! [name_f]My[/name_f] second favorite would be [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]! [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Anya[/name_f] SOUNDS like a literary character, I think! And [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is super cute…would you call [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]? [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] are really sweet together.
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
Those are my favorites from your list! I really really like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] together. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are beautiful. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a name I used to dislike but I’m starting to like it, especially [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]. [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] would sound nice with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f].The only thing with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is that it’s similar to [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] are super cute nicknames though.
What about [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] instead? [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] would be cute. Some other names that sound cute with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are [name_f]Emeline[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], or [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].
I definitely love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] though! Sounds good with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] too! Good luck!
Btw, you have picked gorgeous names! Beautiful and classic and not too trendy or overused!
