In the beginning, when we thought there was just one baby, [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] were at the top of our list for a girl. Now that we have twins . . . our instincts are to use our top two, but I’m concerned that they are too “matchy.” What do you think? Would it sound better to shorten one or both? Thanks for your advice!
[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]
What about [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] & [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]? You keep the length of both, so they fit together, and you still have all the nickname options for each.
I am not a fan of matchy twin name and I definitely think [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] are too matchy. I really like your idea of shortening one of them though (but not both because [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] still sound kind of matchy to me). I love the combo [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]; I think it sounds so cute! You could also look at other variation of your two favorites. I recently discovered the name [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it! [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] would also be an awesome combo. Other names you might like are [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], [name_f]Corabel[/name_f], [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
With one shortened I like [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]. I also like both shortend- [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]. [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] sounds too made up for me. Im not even completely sure im pronouncing it right. [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] is precious and girly! [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] doesn’t have that same feel but its ok
If they are your favorites, you should use them. If you decide they should be less matchy though, I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Jessa[/name_f], or [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] & [name_f]Jessa[/name_f].
Thank you for affirming my thoughts – I feel much better about letting go of one of these names, now. I believe we are definitely sticking with [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] or a version of it, as it has more sentimental value (seems like yall like it more, too!). I’ll keep you posted!
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] very much. I prefer [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] over [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f]. The ora doesn’t sound pretty to me, and the y looks awkward in it. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] is a very pretty similar name to [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]!
[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] are both pretty… I see why they were at the top of your list! I love the I idea of [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]/ [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]!
I thine [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] would be pretty if you were open to that, or [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]. Otherwise I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] from your list.
Of the four sets, I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] best. I am not keen at all on the -yn ending, but would love to see twins [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessa[/name_f] - gorgeous! I also like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], but for some reason it doesn’t flow as well for me. What about [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]?
Best of luck!
I might be in the minority, but I like [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] is lovely. I do prefer the [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] spelling, however. It looks less trendy and keeps the same pronunciation. I also like [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f]. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] are so precious!
However, if [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] has more meaning for you, definitely stick with that one.
[name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] alternatives to consider:
I really like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f], but have you thought of the name [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]? Maybe [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]?
Good choice, [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] / [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] / [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] / [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is definitely the lovelier of the two. Can’t wait to hear what you pick for her sister.
