Twin girls!

Hello all! My husband and I are expecting twin girls on [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] [name_u]Day[/name_u], I would love some help and input.

Here’s my dilemma, my husband is a [name_f]Marine[/name_f] stationed overseas and when we have a rare chance to chat naming our girls isn’t the top of his list, I totally understand, he’s not a name guy and not creative at all so he doesn’t enjoy the process. I’d love to be able to come up with a small list of girls names I think we would both like to make it easier on him.

He tends to think some if the names I like are a little “too much” so input from someone who likes a little more of a “normal” name is appreciated.
He loves city or place names, (if you can’t tell from our current children)
Doesn’t like super popular/ trendy/ cutesie.

We both agree no matchy matchy names for twins, and we both prefer neither name begin with a vowel.

I prefer a more unique name, but not celeb crazy.

Names I am liking right now:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Soraya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Solene[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Imani[/name_f]

I need some honest feedback, my family won’t give any input they will just say “whatever you like we will love”

Of course as I send this I realized I have broken our vowel rule 3 times… pregnancy brain!!! ”

I think that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] would be truly beautiful and fit in so well with your children. I love your children’s names!

From your list, I love:

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is the first combination I have in my list that I am loving. I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] is too long, and I also forgot to take out the three names that start with a vowel. I didn’t notice but I know my husband will!
The only thing is that all of our other children have a place name for either first middle or both, we both love that tradition and would love to carry it on. We would either have to have both girls without a place name or have both with.

I do like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a twin set. Thoughts? We could do place middle names for them?

I think we may have the same favorites. I am totally open to new suggestions as well!

From your list, I would keep:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

Maybe (I love these names, but they don’t fit your vowel rule):
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f], both sound like great combos to me.

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are my favorites from your list. I also like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] quite a bit and think it would work well with your other children’s names.

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] make a lovely pair (though [name_f]Violet[/name_f] itself is not one of my favorite names, it goes well with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], which is).

Congratulations! I love you’re children’s names. From your list I love [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f], I think they go lovely with your other kids names too.
Some other suggestions- [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f].

And some place-inspired names- [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_u]London[/name_u], [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_f]India[/name_f], [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_u]Holland[/name_u], [name_f]Umbria[/name_f].

My favourite combos

  • [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
  • [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_u]Holland[/name_u]
  • [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
  • [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]

Best of luck!

My favourites from your list are [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]! [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are my favourite combos that have place names as middle names.

Sounds like everyone loves the same names from my list, my daughter ended up chiming in and she loves the name [name_f]Samara[/name_f]. I love it and have been trying to make combos, i also love [name_u]Rio[/name_u] as another place name.

Thoughts?

[name_f]Samara[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Samara[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_u]Rio[/name_u]

?

Ugh, I so love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]! Too bad they’re off-limits. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] are also both beautiful names that I have on my own list =] These two definitely get my vote.

If you want to give them place name middles ([name_f]Samara[/name_f] is a great suggestion!), maybe try these:

[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
[name_u]Chelsea[/name_u]
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_u]Havana[/name_u]
[name_u]London[/name_u] (ik your girl is [name_f]Parisa[/name_f], but I think this would work as a middle for one of the twins just fine)
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]

Good luck and congrats, btw!

I like this idea much better. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] seems too mainstream right now for your sibset. Maybe [name_f]Viola[/name_f] instead? But I love [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Samara[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] was almost too ‘safe’ to me for sibset, but when you pair it with [name_f]Samara[/name_f] I think it works.

I also like [name_f]Geneva[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for you.

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], and it fits well because it is a place name. I like [name_f]Samara[/name_f] as a suggestion because it is also a place name and isn’t too matchy matchy with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].

I am so torn between [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Samara[/name_f] or [name_f]Samara[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Samara[/name_f] because they are both place names that I don’t think people automatically think of as place names. We tried to sneak them in for a few of our children but I really like these two.

[name_m]How[/name_m] 'bout
[name_f]Samara[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Germaine[/name_u]
