Twin names... with a nature connection

Sorry for posting so much about this, but I keep thinking about this. Thinking of boy/girl twin names, but I want a nature connection to them.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. There was a land and sea connection to the first names.

But, [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] isn’t sticking, and the only other boy name I’m really liking is [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. But that’s a bit too close to [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f].

Then I thought, [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], but there’s no nature connection. Hailey’s middle names still have a nature theme, while Owen’s does not.

Now, I’m thinking of dropping [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and changing [name_u]James[/name_u].

[name_u]New[/name_u] combo I’m thinking of… [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

Both names have a nature name (birds), and I keep [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], which I always liked because of it’s elegant/whimsical feel. I know [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] kind of have a weird flow, but because they’re the middle and second middle, I’m not super concerned. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] also has a bit of a whimsical/story book feel to me… I personally associate it with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] from [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh, which is the reason I picked it. And I like that the syllables match.

Thoughts on [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]?

Is the nature connection there enough? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think of a bird/nature when you think of [name_u]Jay[/name_u]?

I will say I much prefer [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] over [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] — but [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] does have a nature connection in my mind! It means “hay’s meadow”!

[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] are lovely! I like the subtle bird link!

A few alternatives:

[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Rook[/name_m] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Rose[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Reed[/name_u] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] (Ada and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] have similar meanings)

I would suggest [name_m]Oren[/name_m] “laurel or pine tree” with [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] “elm tree.”

[name_m]Oren[/name_m] is still close to [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] but takes away the “w” so it adds a bit of variation (enough for my liking at least!)

There’s also [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (another tree) & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]

[name_u]Or[/name_u] for more land & sea options…

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]
[name_u]River[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Cove[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Beck[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] (bay is a water & tree connection!)

Hmm…

I strongly prefer your first twin set. I think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] + [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] sound lovely together and look visually really pretty with the shared y letter.

However [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a lovely name outdoorsy and handsome. I agree she is too similar to [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] but I strongly prefer [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] over [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]. [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] has never appealed to me I can appreciate the name she’s dependable and friendly but the sound doesn’t appeal massively to me. However I did immediately think of [name_u]Marley[/name_u]. I actually love how sweet that name sounds. [name_u]Marley[/name_u] has the nature connection with the meaning ‘pleasant seaside meadow’ that’s truly such an adorable meaning. I think [name_u]Marley[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] would work nicely. I also had a thought that maybe switching the names around so having [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] instead she’s so sweet with bright bohemian flair. I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is gorgeous. I also think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] + [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] work nicely together.

[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] is very handsome with a distinguished vibe. For me the overall combination has a more downtown jazz player rather than sweet storybook outdoorsy feel. I think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] has that vibe more. [name_u]Jay[/name_u] is a nice name but I do not automatically associate with birds. I think nature connection is the most important thing so I thought of other bird names. I did think [name_u]Robin[/name_u] but that’s very [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] so I’m not sure maybe [name_u]Lark[/name_u], [name_u]Sparrow[/name_u], [name_u]Callum[/name_u], [name_u]Dove[/name_u], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] or [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u]. I really like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Callum[/name_u] I love alliteration and I think the name has a soft handsome sound. I also like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Lark[/name_u] the direct bird connection matches well with [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
Some other nature boy names which may appeal could be [name_u]Cedar[/name_u], [name_u]Briar[/name_u], [name_u]Alder[/name_u], [name_u]Forest[/name_u], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Adair[/name_u] or even [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] as a subtle connection to olive trees. For girls other nature options could be [name_u]Fern[/name_u], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_f]Opal[/name_f] or [name_f]Marina[/name_f].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Wait a minute! [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a nature name. Behindthename.com says that it means either ‘born from the yew tree’ or possibly ‘sheep’. I like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] slightly more than [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] too. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] & [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] are too close though. I think that [name_u]Owen[/name_u] & [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] are lovely if you like [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] & [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] the same. I like them both a lot, even though [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is a tad dated. It’s still sweet in my opinion. Are you looking for more nature-y ideas to go with [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]? Maybe…

Brennan-means ‘rain’

Calum-means ‘dove’

Colin-means ‘dog’

Jonah-means ‘dove’

Kit-like a baby fox

Koa-as in a koa tree

Kai-means ‘sea’

Ronan-means ‘little seal’

Shaw-means ‘thicket’

Silas-means ‘woods’

Wesley-means ‘West meadow’

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I prefer [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] over [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], but either work. If you want a nature connection for a boy, you might look at [name_m]Oren[/name_m].

Tbh I don’t see the nature connection and I don’t associate [name_u]Jay[/name_u] with birds but [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is nice:)

Here are my ideas:
Not liking [name_u]Jay[/name_u] that much……
Prefer [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] over [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]

[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Hawk[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Callum[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Crane[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Adler[/name_u]
Third names are all bird names.

Hadley* [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] ( or Dove)
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] ( or Dove)
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] means “field of heather.”

*I prefer [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but if you really like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] you could use [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] with any of these combinations. Also, you might consider [name_u]Halle[/name_u] spelling.

I liked [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] but it’s not sticking. People say [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is dated, which perhaps it is, but [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] is also dated to me. [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], to me, is kind of a sweet, soft name. I did want to keep [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], hence moving it to the middle name and dropping [name_u]Juniper[/name_u].

I was originally thinking [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], but too many people in my personal circle say that [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is a weird name.

The other girl names I like are [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], but [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] isn’t sticking and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] has a strong negative family association for me.

I actually don’t hate your “downtown jazz” description of [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]. I haven’t thought of that!

Yeah, I’d love to work in [name_u]Robin[/name_u] because I love it on a boy, but it’s too much with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. I’ve thought of [name_u]Sparrow[/name_u]. [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] is also a guilty pleasure name for me.

I have to admit, I had no idea [name_u]Owen[/name_u] was a nature name! I completely missed the connection! Thank you!

I think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] feels fresher then [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] however I appreciate the both have a 90s feel. Honestly I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is gorgeous and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is becoming more mainstream. I would follow your gut rather than listening to your social circle. Not my immediate social circle but my partner’s family and people in the public thought my daughter’s name was odd however I’ve become more confident with my choice and I’m so happy that I choose [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. I always receive compliments and I think with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] you would receive so many compliments just like I do! Similarly if you love [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] go for it. [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] feels friendly and dependable my friend has a daughter named [name_u]Haley[/name_u] and she loves her choice. I think jazzy [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] works with [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]! I’m glad you like that description as so do I :saxophone:

Good luck with deciding!

[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is a very sweet name and if you like it, you should use it.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] would make a very sweet sibling set.

[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
would work just fine.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to be helpful and explore other possibilities….
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] (or Dove)
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Crane[/name_m] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] (or Dove)

I am not discouraging you from using Hailey…… but when I entered [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] in the nameberry search, there was a list of names under Keyword Results entitled “Names to Substitute for Hailey.” Here are some that I thought might interest you.
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] (you could use nickname Amie) or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillie[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibley[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Kylie[/name_f]

[name_f]Sofie[/name_f] wasn’t on the list but [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] reminded me of it. [name_f]Sofie[/name_f], spelled this way, would be so cute with [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] and
[name_f]Sofie[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
or
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Crane[/name_m] and
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]

Good luck making your decision. Whatever you decide will work out just fine. At least you know you have thought it out well and explored many options.

I think they are great! I love the use of [name_u]Jay[/name_u] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

As for [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] sounding, like [name_u]Wren[/name_u], like you said, since they are the middle and second middle names, I think it is fine.

As for [name_u]Jay[/name_u], I definitely will think of a blue jay/green jay/stellar’s jay or whatever other types of jays there are.

I think the nature connection is perfect. [name_f]My[/name_f] twin brother and I also have nature middle names lol. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] and [name_u]Aster[/name_u].

[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] (A native [name_f]British[/name_f] tree) is beautiful on either gender but I really love it on a boy!
