I have professed my love for the name [name_f]Elise[/name_f] a few times, but I cannot settle on a twin sister name or decide on middle names! I really like
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]/Lillian and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] as sisters, I feel they are both feminine and classic, but I don’t love how popular [name_f]Lily[/name_f]/Lillian is right now… [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is my middle name (named after my great grandmother) so it does have special meaning.
I also love the name [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_u]George[/name_u] is my maiden name so I have always wanted to use [name_u]George[/name_u] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] somewhere in my children’s names, but I’m not ready to let go of the possibility of naming a son [name_u]George[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though my husband doesn’t like [name_u]George[/name_u] and hasn’t budged in the 12 years I have tried to talk him into it.
I also love the name [name_u]Indy[/name_u] for a girl, but I don’t think it goes well as a sister to [name_f]Elise[/name_f], this would be an honor name for my mom, “[name_f]Cindy[/name_f]” who I am SUPER close with.
Tell me your favorite combination, I am also open to other names.
To me both [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] feel like pretty perfect sister names for her. I do like that [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is a bit more distinct sound-wise, though–and coupled with the fact that you don’t love the popularity of the [name_f]Lily[/name_f] names, that makes me inclined to vote for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I wouldn’t personally save [name_u]George[/name_u] in your shoes; sadly, it just sounds like too many unlikely things would have to happen for you to get to end up using it.
I do like [name_u]Indy[/name_u], too, and I love it as an honor name for a [name_f]Cindy[/name_f]! I agree with you that it’s maybe not quite a style match for [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but I don’t think that should be a dealbreaker by any means if it emerges as your favorite. And I do think they sound good together!
All that being said, my favorite for you is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], and then [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (I prefer [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] over [name_f]Lily[/name_f]). [name_u]Indy[/name_u] is close behind though. You really can’t go wrong here–these are all lovely options!
I love the name [name_f]Elise[/name_f] (its my daughters middle name!) and I agree with you that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is super overused right now. I really like the idea of using the variant [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] instead. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] go together perfectly!
I would suggest:
I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] I’d stick with just Lily personally
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]’s gorgeous as well! I also love [name_f]Julia[/name_f] if that appeals? [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]’s popular nowadays too, but I personally prefer [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. You may like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Lily[/name_f]?
[name_u]Indie[/name_u] (my preferred spelling) or [name_u]Indy[/name_u] is wondrous too, the honor meaning only adding even more! But I feel like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Indy[/name_u] are different styles. Maybe [name_u]Indy[/name_u] could be a middle name? [name_u]Or[/name_u] short for [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]?
What do you think of the girl’s name [name_f]Georgette[/name_f]? I’ve always liked it because it’s a beautiful, delicate fabric; and the name as well as [name_f]Elise[/name_f] are [name_u]French[/name_u]
Elise is so pretty and I love how significant all these name are!
I adore [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] but it is rather popular. I LOVE [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] for you !! And [name_u]Indy[/name_u] to honour [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] is simply fantastic !
I actually love the contrast of [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Indy[/name_u] for twin sisters. Style wise they are not a match but [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Indie[/name_u] would have the same amount of letters and share a vowel
Elise [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is probably my favourite combo and I love the idea of [name_u]Indie[/name_u] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
Elise and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] ([name_f]Sibby[/name_f])
Elise and [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]
Elise and [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]
Elise and [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
----- [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] even means ‘twin’ to my recollection
Others that I just like:
Elise and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_u]Laurel[/name_u]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. I feel like they complement each other really well. I understand your concerns about popularity, but if it’s what you love, go ahead and use it.
You could go with another version of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] that’s less common, like [name_f]Lilias[/name_f]. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]/Susanna/Susan all mean “lily”. I wouldn’t call [name_f]Lila[/name_f] uncommon, but it might be less common than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
Elise and [name_u]Indy[/name_u] are cute together too. I don’t feel like they’re too different.
Some other names that go with [name_f]Elise[/name_f], IMO:
Elise and [name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
Your honor name idea for [name_u]George[/name_u] is so cute! How about [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f]? It keeps the honor name and I think stylistically they’re similar!
Elise may be nicknamed [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], so I might stay away from [name_f]Lily[/name_f] so they aren’t [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] which sound too close. I say save [name_u]George[/name_u] for a boy - I know you said your husband isn’t keen on it but it could make a nice middle name for a son if you can’t convince him to use it for the first. I would also stay away from [name_u]Indy[/name_u] for the same reason as [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - [name_u]Indy[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] are too close for comfort.
I think a nice suggestion could be [name_f]Thia[/name_f], I’m assuming [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] comes from [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]? So [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Thia[/name_f] could be a nice pairing where they don’t sound too close and it still honors your mom.
