Twin [name_f]Sister[/name_f] For [name_m]William[/name_m] Needed
[LEFT]I looking for the perfect girls name to pair with [name_m]William[/name_m], I have a small affection for twin names to be somewhat matchy without being too matchy. I do have a preference for them to start with the same letter or have the same ending but I’m not overly fussy I think. For a nickname I was thinking of using [name_u]Billy[/name_u]? [name_m]How[/name_m] do [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] and [name_u]Billy[/name_u] sound? [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] sound okay? Or should I focus more on W names?
Middle name suggestions for both would be wonderful as well. Thank you!![/LEFT]
I suggest choosing a name for your little girl that reads as “girl” as it would be assumed that [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] are twin boys. It’s a fairly small pool of names if you want to stick to a W name but I do like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], or [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is cute too. Other suggestions to flow with [name_m]William[/name_m]…
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Justine[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (so many nn choices here)
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
Wlliiam and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] And [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]
I absolutely love [name_m]William[/name_m] for a boy and although [name_u]Billy[/name_u] is out of style right now for a boy, it is in style more for a girl. ([name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]) I personally prefer [name_m]Will[/name_m] for a boy. Using [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] for a girl, I’d prefer [name_u]Robbie[/name_u] as a nn. [name_u]Bobbie[/name_u], [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] is very dated for a girl.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]William[/name_m] ([name_m]Will[/name_m]) and …
I am not a big fan of [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] but i do like the nickname [name_u]Berty[/name_u] better than [name_u]Bobby[/name_u].
What about Eluzabeth with the nickname [name_f]Betty[/name_f]? [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f].
I also like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]. [name_m]William[/name_m] and Gwedolyn. [name_m]Willy[/name_m] and [name_f]Wendy[/name_f].
Was it ‘The Railway Children’? I remember reading it in school, fantastic book. I believe that’s where my love for [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] and [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] steams from LOL.
Hm it seems not many people are a fan of [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Roberta[/name_f]/[name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_u]Bobby[/name_u].
I do adore the suggestions of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] though. NN [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] especially.
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] ([name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Jilly[/name_f])
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] ([name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f])
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f])
[name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Bella[/name_f] ([name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f])
If [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] is a Name you love because of “The Railway Children” then definitely use it but maybe spell [name_u]Bobbie[/name_u] like the Book does [name_u]Bobbie[/name_u], which looks a bit more Feminine - [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_u]Bobbie[/name_u]! Another possibility is [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f], [name_f]Roberta[/name_f]'s [name_f]Sister[/name_f], as [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f]/ [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and [name_u]Philly[/name_u] sound BRILLIANT together!
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]! They sound similar, and can have rhyming nicknames ([name_f]Phillie[/name_f] and [name_u]Billy[/name_u]) or can diverge to be a bit more different and give them their own separate sounds when they’re older ([name_m]Bill[/name_m]/[name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f].) As someone with a name matching my brother’s (rhyming nicknames) I would suggest going for a similar sound and feel, rather than matching nicknames–twins get a little tired, always being 1/2 a set! I think sticking with other non-dated classic English names is the best way to match. I also think [name_m]Will[/name_m] is a better nickname for a little boy as he grows into adulthood, but that’s subjective
I’d forgotten about [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] from The Railway Children! Oh my goodness, that takes me back (and makes a great deal of sense, as she was my favourite character!). The book I’m thinking of is something else, no idea what, but in it the teenage girl characters are talking about how their younger selves used to play at being teens, and one of them used [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] as her ‘big girl’ name. Since then, I’ve always associated [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] with confidence and sophistication.
What I think of immediately is [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], though [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] does not have the nickname potential, and doesn’t sound like it either!
But possibly:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] ([name_f]Bella[/name_f])
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Betsy[/name_f]) – I know others have suggested [name_f]Betty[/name_f] but I knew a [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] growing up and it was an adorable, spunky NN.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ([name_f]Winnie[/name_f])
[name_f]Roberta[/name_f] ([name_u]Berty[/name_u])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Tilly[/name_f])
[name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] ([name_u]Philly[/name_u] or [name_f]Pippa[/name_f])
