We are expecting twin girls in 3 weeks. My husband and I have been struggling to find names that we both love. We are currently considering [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Alexis[/name] (nn [name]Amy[/name] and [name]Lexi[/name]). Does this work well as a twin set? Would this fit well with big sister [name]Adeline[/name] (nn [name]Addie[/name])?
The only thing I notice is that [name]Alexis[/name] doesn’t sound as feminine as [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name]. If you were concerned about that, you could change it to [name]Alexa[/name], for instance. But I think it would work just fine as a sibset, especially as they grow into their names.
I completely agree with rowanasabe. [name]Adeline[/name] sounds nice with sisters [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] (nn [name]Alexis[/name]). All 3 names are very European royalty sounding. That’s just my opinion.
I am going to agree with the PP and say that [name]Alexis[/name] sounds out of place. [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are both very feminine and classic, while [name]Alexis[/name] is more modern and kind of masculine. [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Alexandria[/name], or even [name]Alexa[/name] would fit in better. [name]IMO[/name].
Agree with anyone. I like [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name] together.
I think [name]Alexa[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name] would go better than [name]Alexis[/name].
We have twin girls in our neighborhood named [name]Adelyn[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name] (one of my favorite names). As for [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Alexis[/name], I like [name]Amelia[/name] much better. [name]Alexis[/name] feels a little dated to me. In addition to [name]Anneliese[/name], I think [name]Alice[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name], or [name]Aliza[/name] would both fit well with [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name].
I knew an [name]Alexis[/name] growing up. I always thought her name was too girly for her- being a big tom boy. I therefore disagree with the previous posters. I also adore the name [name]Lexi[/name]. I think [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Alexis[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] make a great sibset.
i like it, but if you’re considering the comments about making [name]Alexis[/name] more feminine, i like [name]Alexia[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name] better than [name]Alexa[/name].
[name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are great together. As others have said, [name]Alexis[/name] seems out of place. Alternatives would be:
[name]Ava[/name] (if you don’t mind popularity)
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Acacia[/name] (it is a little out there but a pretty flower name) prn a-[name]Kay[/name]-sha
[name]Alyse[/name] prn just like [name]Elise[/name]/[name]Elyse[/name] is the accepted a spelling. I particularly like this with [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
I agree with [name]Alexis[/name] being too boy-ish and casual.
I think [name]Alexandria[/name] would work well or [name]Amaya[/name] oder [name]Arianna[/name] or [name]Avianna[/name].
