Twin sisters for Leo

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], first time poster but long time lurker here!

Our twin girls are due mid-November (that’s our scheduled c section). We still have no clue what to name them, and time is running out. Our 7 yo son is named [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]David[/name_u], nn [name_u]Leo[/name_u]. We know we want something with nickname potential, hopefully two syllables. We prefer names that are familiar but not super overused. When [name_u]Leo[/name_u] was little, we were the guardians of my siblings, [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], who still spend a lot of time with us. Any names should be pretty different from those three, but still sound cohesive if possible!

Some names we like:
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (nn Maggie)

I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] for twins, [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jenny[/name_f].

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a note from someone whose legal name is [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]: I ended up changing it just because it was so difficult. Nobody ever spells or pronounces it right, there are too many nicknames I don’t like I’ve had to deal with, my grade 1 teacher actually CORRECTED me on how to pronounce my name, and many people have the audacity to tell me I have a weird name…

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]David[/name_u] “Leo” is a great name! Here are some thoughts on your list, plus suggestions…

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]–Not my personal favorite, but I can definitely see the appeal! And I think it’s a good style fit for [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]. What would you use as a nickname? [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Lia[/name_f], but that obviously wouldn’t work; maybe [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]?
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “Maggie”–This is my favorite of your current options with your older son’s name! [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] feels like a great match for [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] for [name_u]Leo[/name_u], and I love both names individually!
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]–I really like this! I do think it shares quite a bit of sound with [name_u]Leo[/name_u], but definitely workable. Maybe [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] “Celia”, or [name_f]Celia[/name_f] “Cece”, if you wanted to keep that full-name/nickname symmetry?
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]–I love this, although I love [name_f]Imogene[/name_f] even just a bit more! Either way it’s a great name. Nicknames could be [name_f]Immy[/name_f], [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_u]Genie[/name_u]?
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]–I think this is a great fit with your son’s name, especially with a nickname like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]! [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] could be other options (although I don’t know how you feel about repeating initials?).
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]–I adore [name_f]Millie[/name_f]! I love it as a standalone, but with your son’s name, I wonder if you’d want a longer full name. Maybe [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] “Millie” or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] “Millie” or Camille/Camilla “Millie”?
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]–I love that this opens up plenty of full-name/nickname combo options! [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is my favorite, but [name_u]Penny[/name_u] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] would be adorable too.

Other ideas…

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] “Addie”
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] “Anna”
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] “Annie”
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] “Bea”
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] “Cora”

Congratulations :two_hearts:

Firstly I love [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]David[/name_u] ‘Leo’ such a handsome name.

From your list I think [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] & [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be a lovely twin set and works wonderfully with [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]. Also I think [name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] & [name_f]Nell[/name_f] are very sweet.

Another twin set I like the sound of would be [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] & [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] they match your brief are a sweet pairing and again [name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_f]Gen[/name_f] & [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] would be lovely.

You’ve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] & [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] ~ Fliss & [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] & [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] & [name_f]Evie[/name_f]

[name_u]Leo[/name_u] (Mickey & Vivian)

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ginny[/name_f]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]David[/name_u] nn [name_u]Leo[/name_u] is so handsome! And it really is cohesive w/your siblings’ names too. :+1:

Here are my thoughts on your list so far for the little sisters:

Ophelia-I don’t know why, but I find this name just too over dramatic sounding. I sometimes like dramatic romantic names, but this name feels dark to me. Most people seem to like it. In fact, it’s getting a bit popular. And it’s hard to nick name, but it does go well w/Leonardo.

Magnolia-Ooh, gorgeous. This is frilly yet bold & has beautiful imagery. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is sweet w/big brother, [name_u]Leo[/name_u].

Celia-Ooh, I like this one too. Feels like a perfect match w/Leonardo/Leo. It’s sweet & smart & quiet but a little bit exotic. I like the nn [name_f]Celie[/name_f]. It feels light & natural.

Imogen-I like this name in theory more than the sound, but it’s still a fun choice. Lots of good nns! There’s [name_f]Imee[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] & my favorite, [name_f]Idgie[/name_f].

Rosalind-This one is tricky. Some people will say Roz-lin & some will say Rose-uh-lind. I much prefer the latter, but I think that the former is more popular. A little [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] would be very sweet w/your crew.

Millie-It’s kind of fun & goes well w/Leo. Too nick-namey though. Maybe too close to [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] if that’s a concern. Lots of good [name_f]Millie[/name_f] full names though. I like [name_u]Camille[/name_u], [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is my favorite!

Penelope-Super cute & fits in well. Quirky & spunky but classic & a little exotic. Lots of great nns. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], but there’s also [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Polly[/name_f] & [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].

Sorry for any repeats, but a few more ideas…

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] would make sweet sets!!

I’ll suggest

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is pretty with [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] and so is [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] don’t match too well.
How about [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]? You could have a [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] and a [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] then?

I love [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]!

I think [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] & [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] would be cute!

I like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] or [name_u]Camille[/name_u] :slightly_smiling_face:

I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are beautiful with [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]! Great nickname options and fit really nicely together!

I love these pairs

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] & [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Celia[/name_f]

With [name_u]Leo[/name_u] and from your list, [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (Maggie or Nola) and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (Penny) are my favorite!

I think of your options [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] go great with [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_u]Micky[/name_u] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u].

They are both long with fantastic nickname potential but distinct from the other 3 names.

[name_u]Leo[/name_u] , [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] and [name_u]Penny[/name_u]
[name_u]Leo[/name_u] , [name_f]Lindy[/name_f], [name_f]Lo[/name_f]
[name_u]Leo[/name_u] , [name_f]Sally[/name_f] and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] too but I kind of want them to be longer like a [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]

I will suggest

Congratulations! I don’t think you have to look any further! I love the names already on your short list. I especially like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (Maggie) with [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (Ro, [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], Rozzy)!

Here are some more possibilities if you’re still looking for more names:

Off your list I like Magnolia & Rosalind, I have a long list (by long I mean not the short list…it not actually a very long list) with names I like but can’t use for various reasons and they’re on it… So they get my vote!
I also have Rosamund & Marigold that I really like… Not sure if you’d want them both to end in -d and both be flower names. I think Rosamund always looks like a flower name to me but I believe it means horse protector so that’s nice that it can sort of get away with feeling like a flower name even if you don’t want them to be so similar in that way.

Rosie/Rosa & Maggie or Rosie/Rosa & Mary are both very sweet with Leo and feel very classic.

Congrats & I hope something feels right to you for them soon
