What do you think of twins [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m]?
Are they too matchy since they are both Weasley children from [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]? I like HP so that was intentional, but I like each name individually, so by no means were thay picked just for that.
Perfect names for twins. Timeless and well-used enough throughout the centuries to transcend all pop culture associations.
I agree the names are great together and too classic to have any strong associations or to lead to any assumptions. My first thought was actually the royal family, but I wouldn’t assume that was in homage to them.
Definitely work! They’re too classic to be tied down to any one character.
They’re both fine, but my one issue is that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] has nickname options whereas [name_m]George[/name_m] doesn’t really. For regular siblings this doesn’t bother me, but for twins it does.
My first thought was the royal family rather than HP. However, they are lovely, timeless names, and so full of history that there are far too many associations for one to make much of a difference.
I thought of the royal family too, but I’m a huge royalist and associate lots of names with them that most people don’t. I was going to say that if you were using [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] now, it’d probably attract more notice since the royals have been in the press a lot lately because of [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m], but a year or two from now I doubt it’d come up.
I didn’t think of the Weasleys at all and I’ve read all the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] books. I’ve never really thought of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as [name_m]Charles[/name_m]; I don’t think he was ever referred to as such in the books even though his full name probably is [name_m]Charles[/name_m] given all the Weasley children had full names.
I have a [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and we are considering [name_m]George[/name_m] for our next boy. My worry is that the two together are too royal family; HP didn’t cross my mind. But both names are classic and fit together perfectly in style. It is a fair point, though, that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] has a natural nickname used by both children and adults ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]), while [name_m]George[/name_m] doesn’t so much. As long as you don’t mind that, they’re a great pair of names for twins!
I’m a big [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fan and my first thought was not the Weasleys. My first thought was the royal family. Anyway, I think they’re great- so classic, regal, and match perfectly.
A great twin set!! Fabulously classic and could match with any personality.
