Twin girls are due in 6 short weeks and we’re still working on names. We’ve recently become quite smitten with [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] as one of the names. It has a lot of the features we are searching for in a name - familiar but not popular, something that wears well now and later, and a little of that vintage or classic feel.
Only problem is that we’re having difficulty finding another girl name that seems to balance [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]. Our best try so far is [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f].
Big brother is [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. Last name starts with N. And we have found that first names ending in “n” or “na” sounds just don’t flow smoothly. “S” endings on the first name also just don’t sound right due to alliteration with the last.
Can you give more examples of your style? For some reason [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] sprang to mind. [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is a fantastic name, [name_f]Merry[/name_f] a really sweet nn - I think it is Welsh, perhaps another Welsh name? I am a fan of [name_f]Olwen[/name_f] but if that is not your stye there are lots of other beautiful Welsh names or what about [name_u]Seren[/name_u] which is Welsh for star? Good luck! Twins are great fun.
I do adore [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but the ending isn’t ideal with the last name (we have ruled out many favorites that end in n, ine, or na as the flow isn’t right.)
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f] is on our short list. So is [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. And we both like julia but are concerned whether or not it is too popular. [name_m]Just[/name_m] can’t decide.
Favorites we have cut include madeleine, evangeline, and alexandra. And we love olivia, but it is way too popular.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] (too similar to [name_u]Everett[/name_u]?)
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
First…I think [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] are very nice together…
Other suggestions…
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] (or [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f])
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] (or [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f])
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (or [name_f]Theresa[/name_f])
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and [name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
I do like [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f], and I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]! I also really like the suggestion of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (I’m not usually a fan of alliterative twin names, but there is something special about these two together)
I think [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] would go well with:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
