Twins Names: Sunday &?

Hello everyone! So I’m looking to name characters, but I’m having some trouble in a few areas.

The setting is modern day, just a romance story.

[name_f]My[/name_f] main problem is trying to find a twin name for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]-I am dead set on [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. It’s about the only thing I’m sure of, lol.

The twins are B/G, about 2 years old, blonde curls, blue eyes. I want their names to sound ‘celebrity esque.’ I had [name_m]Colin[/name_m] for the boy twin, but I didn’t feel it. I also had [name_m]Julian[/name_m], but I thought it clashed with [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] (I don’t like characters to have names that start with the same letter-I would make an exception for twins)

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t suggest these names: [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_u]Michael[/name_u]-anything very usual. Trendy names are good. But, I don’t like [name_u]Carter[/name_u], [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], etc. Something soft, that you could see on a baby boy, or at least something with a nickname in that vein.

The woman I’ve named [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] - she’s very young (about 25?), she adopted children very young, she’s selfless, fun and very mature. I decided [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] over [name_f]Maia[/name_f] & I’m not sure about it. I love [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] for it’s soft feel, but [name_f]Maia[/name_f] literally means mother (her most defining quality.)
Does what I prefer trump meaning?

A bit on my style: I love [name_u]Skye[/name_u], [name_u]Romy[/name_u], [name_f]Luciana[/name_f], [name_u]Billy[/name_u], [name_u]Cruz[/name_u]…very trendy, actually. But I also love [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f].

I immediately thought of [name_u]Blue[/name_u] for the boy. I think another word name would pair best with [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. More suggestions:

Brave/[name_m]Bravery[/name_m]

As for the woman, I think preference trumps meaning-meaning can sometimes be a little too obvious. Have you already given her a middle name? If not, why not [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maia[/name_f] or [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]? They both sound nice.

[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] is a hard name to follow. Going to simple makes [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] seem strange, and going too unique makes them both seem wacky and unrealistic. So these are the name I feel walk the line:

[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_f]September[/name_f] <= My personal favorite
Sunday and Sawyer
Sunday and Stellan
Sunday and Carter
Sunday and Cannon
Sunday and Finley

Since this is a novel maybe you could do a little play with words. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] (whose Spanish form is [name_m]Domingo[/name_m], which means [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] in Spanish). Or something use something matchy like [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_m]Palmer[/name_m] (Palm [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]), [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_m]Sol[/name_m] (both mean “sun”), [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u] (calendar theme).

I wouldn’t pick something too common like [name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] since the sister has such an unusual, non-traditional name.

hannahruss - It’s so funny that you mentioned [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] that name, and never hear it! I was seriously thinking of [name_u]Finley[/name_u] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] recently, but was afraid they were too different in style. Your suggestion may have persuaded me a little :slight_smile:

I can’t use [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] or [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] (which I love, love) for personal reasons (I can’t break my association to the names) but [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Pax[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are new to me and [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] was one name I was really leaning towards. Definitley on my list now.

angelicaecb - I really love the name [name_u]Skyler[/name_u], and I considered it as a name for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. Is [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and [name_u]Sky[/name_u] too corny as nn’s?
