Twins! Siblings of Finn and Gus

[name]Hi[/name] all,

We do not know (and will not find out) the sex of the babies. SOOO. That means 2 boy names, 2 girl names, a combo of both and ALL must work with [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Gus[/name].

[name]Finnigan[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
Gussen [name]Colm[/name]

We like names that have a nickname. Simple, not obscure, prefer not in top 100 ([name]Finn[/name] wasn’t when we chose it).

We are not into matchy twin names…BUT…but, tell me if it is too matchy…I like [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] for possible girls names. I can’t seem to get it out of my head. Boys names we are tossing between [name]Hart[/name] (I like) or [name]Holt[/name] (hubby likes). Possibly [name]Jove[/name].

Any help is appreciated!!

[name]TIA[/name]

p.s. Sorry, I double posted and put one in the “siblings” forum as well :s

I think your boy and girl choices are pretty close.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]?
For boys what about [name]Harrison[/name] or [name]Hudson[/name] with your choices? Or [name]Jameson[/name] or [name]Maxwell[/name]?

Thank you! I like your ideas

Oh, and [name]Jude[/name]! [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Gus[/name] are my kind of names. If you want to see my long lists boys or girls let me know. We may have similar taste

I would love to see your long list! I have looked at so many lists and websites that they are starting to become meaningless! A fresh take would be welcome

[name]Jude[/name] has been on my list as well. Not sure how the other half feels. Between [name]Jude[/name] [name]Law[/name] and Hey [name]Jude[/name], he has a hard time disassociating.

Here it is:

[name]Thatcher[/name]
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Jonas[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name] ( what we picked)
[name]Jack[/name] ( picked as middle)
[name]Caius[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Tiberius[/name]
[name]Thelonius[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Winston[/name]

Girls:
[name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Bay[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Eulalie[/name]
[name]Ottilie[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
Mirrabelle
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Scarlet[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps - I spent months figuring out a name that wasn’t already used by someone I know or a students name. [name]Magnolia[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] were our top girl names. I’m pretty sure I would have gone with [name]Magnolia[/name] if he were a girl!

First off, congrats with the twin pregnancy!

I absolutely adore [name]Holt[/name]! Please please use him! [name]Finn[/name], [name]Gus[/name] & [name]Holt[/name] are actually so perfect together its unbelievable. I also have a huge soft spot for [name]Hart[/name]. I considered using him for my last pregnancy (twins as well!) since it related back to a last name in the family. I think i do prefer him as a middle name though.
I definitely would not put [name]Hart[/name] & [name]Holt[/name] together since they are far too similar. [name]Both[/name] with H, end in T and one syllable. Instead, how about something like:
BB
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Hawthorne[/name] ([name]Hawk[/name])
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Hugh[/name]
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Everett[/name] ([name]Ever[/name] or [name]Rhett[/name])
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Bowen[/name] ([name]Bo[/name])
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Gray[/name]
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Joel[/name]
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Hollis[/name] (i guess these aer a tad matchy as well)
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Leo[/name]

As for girls, I also love both [name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Isla[/name]. Though [name]Ivy[/name] is higher on my love scale then [name]Isla[/name] is - [name]Ivy[/name] is just such a classic, stunning name that would fit perfectly on a girl in a lacy dress and a hair ribbon, a girl playing soccer with her brothers, or a girl in lacy dress playing soccer with her brothers - either or!

BG
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Blythe[/name] (Oh wow - absolutely loving this!)
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Holt[/name] & [name]Wren[/name]

GG
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Blythe[/name] (adore x1000! [name]Love[/name] the tie with the Y in the names. Subtle but still there. They both have the same upbeat happy vibe that i love)
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Wren[/name] (i think we considered this combo at some point)
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Maple[/name] (…this one too)
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Piper[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Tara[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Halle[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Hart[/name] (actually loving [name]Hart[/name] on a girl! Ooo, this has me thinking!)
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Hollis[/name] (i also think [name]Hollis[/name] is fantastic on a little guy or girl)
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Fable[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Leola[/name]

anyways, this is a start, Let me know what you think and ill come back with more suggestions!

xo [name]Viv[/name]

Thanks! Your son has a lovely name  I also really like [name]Violet[/name], [name]Scarlet[/name] and [name]Winston[/name]. Though, maybe not the names for us. Great choices though.

Ohhhh…[name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name]…really liking that.

Loving [name]Hollis[/name], great name. And also [name]Holt[/name] and [name]Everett[/name], although I like the nicknames more than the full name.

Yes, [name]Holt[/name] and [name]Hart[/name] are not contending for a joint combo.

Send me ALL the suggestions you have! Anything to go with [name]Hart[/name]?

Oh, and [name]Viv[/name], I just read your kids names! [name]Lovely[/name]! You have a gift for this

I also really liked the name [name]Piper[/name], but it doesn’t nickname well.

[name]Glad[/name] you are liking [name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Blythe[/name] - i think out of all the combos i mentioned that has to be my favorite!

Isn’t [name]Hollis[/name] such a great name? I absolutely love that it could go pefectly for a little guy OR a little girl. The nickname Holl/[name]Hall[/name] for a little guy is so handsome, and then the nickname [name]Holly[/name]/Lissy for a girl are stunning as well!

So you like [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name] better than the full [name]Everett[/name] - no problem! I think that [name]Holt[/name] & [name]Rhett[/name] or [name]Hart[/name] & [name]Rhett[/name] go awesome together! I also think that the name [name]Rhett[/name] could be so sweet on a girl.

As for [name]Piper[/name] - I think she was the sweetest nicknames! What about [name]Pip[/name]? or [name]Pippy[/name] ( a la Longstocking - but still so fun!) I would also be hesitant to using [name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Piper[/name] together since I believe there is a webzine out there using the title [name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Piper[/name] - but hey! At least we know were not the only ones who like that combo together!

You seem to be in the same sort of boat as us when we were looking for names - almost going backwards from the nickname to the full name (thats how he got [name]Eloise[/name] so we could use [name]Lola[/name], and how we got [name]Wren[/name] so we could use [name]Birdie[/name]!)

To use the name [name]Hart[/name] you may consider using the full [name]Everhart[/name] (or [name]Everhardt[/name]). That way he could use the nickname [name]Hart[/name], or [name]Ever[/name] or the more sporty Ev. I think this could be a real contender for you!

Other names you might like could include:

[name]Hale[/name]
[name]Halden[/name]
[name]Hank[/name] (nn for [name]Henry[/name]? Too popular for you?)
[name]Hayes[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Hyatt[/name]
[name]Jarvis[/name]
[name]Ramsey[/name]
[name]Rex[/name]
[name]Ridge[/name]
[name]Roscoe[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]March[/name]
[name]Wolf[/name]
[name]Fox[/name]
Merrick
Mayes
[name]Major[/name]
[name]Penn[/name]
[name]Leland[/name]
[name]Fraser[/name]

[name]Bea[/name] (for [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Abbey[/name] etc)
[name]Blair[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] (love the nickname [name]Billie[/name] for this!)
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Sisley[/name]/Sicely/[name]Cicely[/name]
[name]Sidonie[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Callie[/name]
[name]Cassidy[/name]
[name]Cerys[/name]
[name]Clare[/name]
[name]Wynne[/name]

Let me know what you think!
ps: thanks for the love! i find names so fascinating and love helping others with them when im not too busy with my own!

xoxo [name]Viv[/name]

Thanks [name]Viv[/name]!

I am working the hubby on the names [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Hawthorne[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] in conjunction with a names we already have  GREAT suggestions. He takes awhile to warm up to names.

We DEFINITELY choose the short name than go for the longer variation of it! [name]Piper[/name] (becoming too popular) I fell would get shortened to “Pipe” once she was at school. And “[name]Pip[/name]” is too close to “[name]Pippa[/name]” (which I would love if not for the fact that think EVERYONE will be using it soon).

Hub hates [name]Rhett[/name]. Well, he didn’t say hate. He said it sounded like the noise the cat sometimes makes. Nice. Thanks, hon.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Lola[/name]! My gf was hoping to use [name]Lola[/name] if they had a girl. They had a boy - BUT I am passing on the [name]Eloise[/name]/[name]Lola[/name] combo to her for possible future use.

[name]Henry[/name] - would have loved if everyone else didn’t. I was so dissappointed that “[name]Finn[/name]” went through the roof. We don;t watch Glee, and get asked CONSTANTLY if that is where we got it. NO -WE NAMED HIM BEFORE THE SHOW! grr.

Are your twins the two girls?

Isn’t the [name]Eloise[/name]/[name]Lola[/name] combo so sweet? We really love it, one of the first names we fell in love with for the twins (yes, our twins are our girlies! They are coming up to 4 and a half months now - quite hard to believe!)

Too bad the the hubz doesn’t like [name]Rhett[/name], though i do see where he is coming from with two cats of our own haha.

I am super glad that [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Hawthorne[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] are slowly making their way onto your shortlist. [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] are on our “shortlist” if we ever do end up having more kids (though, ahhh! the thought of that at this point is just too much to bear!) Curious, are you leaning towards [name]Hollis[/name] for a little guy or girl? And [name]Hawthorne[/name] is just seriously one of the coolest names out there. Especially with the nickname [name]Hawk[/name]! Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to use him due to already having a [name]Wren[/name]/[name]Birdie[/name], so no more bird names for us!

[name]Just[/name] thought of some other guys names for you. There was a poster around nameberry with the set of [name]Vale[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Darby[/name]. Thought [name]Darby[/name] or [name]Vale[/name] could be really cool for you guys (especially [name]Vale[/name] - Wouldn’t [name]Hart[/name] & [name]Vale[/name] or [name]Holt[/name] & [name]Vale[/name] be so cool together? [name]Holt[/name] + [name]Vale[/name] sound like superheroes!)

xo [name]Viv[/name]

Hey [name]Viv[/name],

Thanks for all the great names! Have passed the favs onto my husband for his contemplation. He takes a [name]LONG[/name] while to warm up to names and has shot me down on most of them.

[name]Hollis[/name] was originally for a boy, but is starting to take my fancy for a girl…

I am feeling confident on [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] for girls  EXCEPT. Husband is Australian, so his accent makes it sound a bit different. [name]Will[/name] have to take that into consideration.

Also liking [name]Vale[/name]…I guess I have to wait for hubs to shortlist some names. Or come up with some suggestions of his own! Jeez.

Yeah - four kids. I am the only person in my sphere with those numbers! I know we are done after this. The magic number was 3, the surprise was 4! My kids are quite close in age, so with twins I am going to look like a traveling side show!

Thanks gain for your help  [name]Will[/name] try to let you know if we make some decisions.

Cheers,
[name]Jen[/name]

[name]Love[/name] the boy names! And I actually love [name]August[/name], [name]Augustus[/name], and [name]Angus[/name] for “[name]Gus[/name]”.

For shorter girl names…hmm let me try this out a minute. I’ll try to keep them in the same style and length as your boys names!

Longer names with nn:
[name]Josephine[/name] & [name]Penelope[/name] / [name]Josie[/name] & [name]Lola[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Coraline[/name] / [name]Rose[/name] & [name]Cora[/name]
Lexington & Carrigan / [name]Lexi[/name] & [name]Cara[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name] & [name]Delaney[/name] / [name]Lilah[/name] & [name]Laney[/name] (border line matchy I know!)
[name]Cassandra[/name] & [name]Alexandria[/name] / [name]Cassie[/name] & [name]Alex[/name]
[name]Calliope[/name] & Liviana / [name]Calla[/name] & [name]Liv[/name]

Shorter names:
[name]Ivy[/name] & [name]Ada[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] & [name]Norah[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name] & [name]Scarlett[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps! You guys are awesome to be SURPRISED by the gender of TWO babies!! That day will be so fun!

Thanks Shutterbug

Lexington and Carrigan are cute, and sound like they would fit the sibset. I already have two boys named [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Gus[/name], so feel free to pass along 2 MORE boy names

Oh got ya! Sorry I read those as the potential boy twin names.

Some boy names I like for your sibset :
[name]Hawthorne[/name] & [name]Rafferty[/name] / Hawke & [name]Rafe[/name]
[name]Ramsey[/name] & [name]Broderick[/name] / [name]Ramsey[/name] & [name]Brody[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name] & [name]Solomon[/name] / Sulley & [name]Sol[/name]
[name]Shepherd[/name] & [name]Lincoln[/name] / [name]Shep[/name] & [name]Linc[/name]

I am coming into this late but I just thought that [name]Harris[/name] would be a cool name for a son.

I think [name]Blythe[/name] goes well with [name]Harris[/name].
or
[name]Crewe[/name] and [name]Skye[/name]

[name]Barnaby[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Malachi[/name]
[name]Curtis[/name] and [name]Perry[/name] ([name]Peregrine[/name])
[name]Montgomery[/name] and [name]Hamish[/name] nn [name]Monty[/name] and Hay
[name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Tristan[/name]
[name]Walker[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]
[name]Denham[/name] and [name]Milton[/name]
[name]Tripp[/name] and [name]Colton[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name] and [name]Rafferty[/name]
