My husband and I can’t decide on a name for our daughter! We love the names [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Rose[/name]-of course we could use one for a middle name? But can’t decide which as we want to use them both as a first! Would it be strange to give our daughter two first names? [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] _______ [name]Perez[/name]? We have yet to come up with a middle, maybe [name]Elizabeth[/name] as that’s my middle name. What do you guys think?
I think it would be commonly assumed that she had two middle names instead unless you wrote it [name]Evelyn[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] ________ [name]Perez[/name].
It wouldn’t be weird as it is quite common practise - especially if it is hyphenated - though I know some people aren’t fond of that. [name]Evelyn[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] with maybe the nickname of “[name]Evie[/name]-[name]Rose[/name]” would be lovely, really really beautiful
I know a little girl with two FNs. I believe it’s [name]Aaliyah[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Marie[/name], or [name]Aaliyah[/name]-[name]Nicole[/name] [name]Marie[/name], one or the other. But she exclusively goes by [name]Aaliyah[/name]. From what I understand, her parents liked the sound of [name]Aaliyah[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Marie[/name], and only ever planned on calling her [name]Aaliyah[/name], but they saw more benefits to having two FNs (and only using one) rather than one FN and two MNs. I think [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is beautiful–personally, if you really only want one MN, I think you could still call her [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Perez[/name] and still call her [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] all the time. The problem with double barrels/two FNs is that I don’t know how well you’d be able to reinforce it. I know a little boy whose FN is [name]Michael[/name]-[name]Kellan[/name], they intended to call him that 100% of the time, and his parents do, but EVERYONE else calls him [name]Michael[/name], which is a point of contention with his parents.
If you don’t mind that others will just use [name]Evelyn[/name]/[name]Eve[/name]/[name]Evie[/name] or [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosie[/name], then I think [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is fine as a double barrel–lovely, actually.
Good luck!
I know two girls who go by [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Ellen[/name] & [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Louise[/name].
I think [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is fine as a fn!
