We are looking for a girl’s name, and we have a couple of choices we like. Big sis is named [name]Eve[/name].
The first name we like is [name]Phoebe[/name]. [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name]. [name]Say[/name] that three times fast. Are they too close for a sibset?
The other frontrunner is [name]Iris[/name]. I like [name]Iris[/name] with [name]Eve[/name]. Our last name is similar to [name]Hanson[/name]. [name]Iris[/name] [name]Hanson[/name]. I think the “s” in [name]Iris[/name] is a bit tricky. [name]Phoebe[/name] on the other hand goes with [name]Hanson[/name].
I’d love to hear feedback on these two names and our problem with clashing.
I guess it depends on how you’re pronouncing [name]Eve[/name]… do you say “ee+v” so that it has the same vowel sound as [name]Phoebe[/name]? If so, then yes, they’re a bit too similar. I don’t see a problem if you’re pronouncing [name]Eve[/name] “eh+v”.
I like [name]Iris[/name] & [name]Eve[/name]. i don’t think there’s a problem with [name]Iris[/name] [name]Hanson[/name] at all. What middle names are you thinking of?
I also think [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] sound fine together. I love [name]Iris[/name] with [name]Eve[/name] better but dislike the hissy quality with your last name. I think it would be alright, but that’s your decision. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Daphne[/name]? It has the ee ending of [name]Phoebe[/name], but not the Ee sound in the middle so I think it works a little better with [name]Eve[/name]. Ivy also came to mind. It does share an ee sound with Eve but no hiss with your last name. I still like it with Eve.
Right, as long as you don’t pronounce [name]Eve[/name] “ee-vee,” you’re fine with [name]Phoebe[/name]. Not the cleanest flow between the two sibs, but I don’t think it matters all that much.
I don’t think [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] are too close for a sibset at all-[name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] would be fantastic! While both names have that long e sound, I think that’s the extent of their similarities. They’re both different and unique but work together wonderfully. [name]Phoebe[/name] is a beautiful name that deserves more love. It would be refreshing to meet a [name]Phoebe[/name]!
Although I do slightly prefer [name]Iris[/name] to [name]Phoebe[/name].[name]Eve[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] are both simple and sweet, and I love that both of your kids would have vowel names.
The s in [name]Iris[/name] is kind of tricky but I think the Han part of [name]Hanson[/name] breaks up the s sounds,so it’s not an issue after all. I think as long as the middle name isn’t s heavy, you should be fine. :]
Wow, you guys are great! I’ll answer some of the questions.
[name]Eve[/name] rhymes with [name]Steve[/name]. The middle name is likely [name]Corinna[/name], although that could change.
I like [name]Daphne[/name] and the other “e” Greek names: [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], etc. However, we like [name]Phoebe[/name] much more for our daughter, and if we decided not to go with it, we would just go with [name]Iris[/name]. Unless I could talk DH into [name]Theodora[/name] nn [name]Thea[/name], which isn’t going to happen! [name]Ivy[/name] is gorgeous, but [name]IMO[/name] it’s closer in sound to [name]Eve[/name] than [name]Phoebe[/name] is.
Not seeing the problem with [name]Iris[/name] [name]Hanson[/name].
[name]Eve[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name] are too close, especially since [name]Phoebe[/name] will likely be shortened to Phe/[name]Fe[/name] at some point
I think [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] are fine and I think [name]Iris[/name] [name]Hanson[/name] as well. [name]Both[/name] are great names. You really can’t go wrong either way. I mean how often are you going to be saying [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] multiple times in a row!
