I have an undeniable general love of E names, and recently I’ve fallen so very hard for [name_f]Elin[/name_f] and Estée. To me, they seem so chic yet romantic yet interesting yet familiar.
My troubles with it are
[name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_f]Elin[/name_f] forever be mispronounced as [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
and
Is Estée forever to be followed by “…as in Lauder?” (the cosmetic brand)
I’m starting to get baby fever and am thinking more seriously about names now. Any thoughts? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like them? Combo ideas, even with them as middle names?
Some ideas I had…
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Antonia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Daria[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Camellia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] - [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is a family name
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] Quinevere
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Silvana[/name_f]
From these, I prefer [name_f]Elin[/name_f] to [name_f]Estee[/name_f], purely because my first association is [name_f]Estee[/name_f] Lauder. There may be some pronunciation issues with [name_f]Elin[/name_f], but because that is the name of [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods’ ex-wife, I think it may be familar enough for people to pronounce correctly.
From your list I think [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] are absolutely gorgeous!
I love [name_f]Elin[/name_f]! The pronunciation is intuitive to me, and I think it would be an easy correction if you do encounter initial pronunciation challenges. Its simplicity (4 letters & no accents) makes it very usable… and oh so beautiful! I totally agree with your description. [name_f]Elin[/name_f] is chic, romantic, interesting, and relatively familiar! Such a perfect stand out, fit in name. Breathtaking
My favorites from your middles ~
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Camellia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Marit[/name_f]
[name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Elin[/name_f] a lot, especially in the combo [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f], but I definitely would mispronounce it and misspell it, if that’s a concern. I had to look up its pronunciation; I would’ve assumed it was pronounced [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]. I would probably spell it [name_f]Aline[/name_f] based on sound. Estée I’m not as huge a fan of, since I see it more as a corporation than a person, but I’m sure knowing an Estée would change that.
@stephaniebrooke yeah, exactly my concern with Estée, even though the company was named after an actual person. I’m so glad you like [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] and [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] (I think they’re some of my favorites, too)
@dream.create Oooh how beautiful are [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]! I almost never like it with an F, but here, it really ties together the sleekness of the combo! Thank you for the ideas!!!
@eleventhbelle Thank you on [name_f]Elin[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]!! Hmm do you think you would remember its spelling/pronounciation after one correction? Also according to my sources, it’s pronounced like EE-lynn, so I’m not sure how [name_f]Aline[/name_f] factors in.
