Two kinda out there names...WDYT?

I just came across two kinda “out there” names, and I would love some opinions…[name]Garnet[/name] and [name]Lilac[/name].

Not together, but WDYT?

I don’t like [name]Garnet[/name], it sounds much too harsh. [name]Lilac[/name] is beautiful.

I feel the opposite way-- I like [name]Garnet[/name], which I think is usable, but not [name]Lilac[/name], which is a little fanciful for my taste even though I also like names that are considered a little unusual.

I love [name]Garnet[/name] for a boy, [name]Lilac[/name] for a girl!

Blessings,

[name]Bella[/name] <3

agree with [name]Bella[/name]…love [name]Garnett[/name] for a boy and [name]Lilac[/name] for a girl (:

Thanks for your posts everyone! I’m kinda surprised though that some are saying [name]Garnet[/name] sounds like a boys name (maybe because of [name]Garrett[/name]?)…to me it’s strictly feminine because of the gem connection.

Awe, I’ve always loved [name]Garnet[/name]!! I wanted to use it as a MN but it never seems too fit with any of my favorites :frowning: [name]Lilac[/name] is ok but I prefer Lavander.

I have a former boyfriend whose former wife (got that?) was [name]Garnet[/name]. He hated her and wryly described her “a semi-precious stone.” Needless to say, that has prejudiced me unfairly against that name. It is too hard for me to hear it without replaying those tapes, to hear it as fresh – as you must hear it.
[name]Lilac[/name] on the other hand seems to me fresh and unusual. It is very girlie girl – but if you want that, I’d say go with it.

My cousin has an uncle called [name]Garnet[/name] so I can only imagine it on a boy but I like [name]Lilac[/name] on a girl
