Two middle names

Is two middle names too much? Does it sound stuck up? What are your opinions? What comes to mind?

Thanm you for your input!

I have two middle names, and I personally don’t think it’s worth it! One of my middle names is constantly left out or forgotten, and there’s always only enough room for one on forms!

i have two middle names and i adore them !! two middle names make a combo feel complete to me. i know a lot of people with multiple middle names - it’s very almost as common as just having one in my area - so it feels very normal to me, and i like it a lot.

That’s a very good point, thank you for commenting.

My daughter has two middle names we’ve not encountered any issues and none of her names are forgotten about. The forms always consist of enough space to write the full name it’s absolutely fine! No issues at all!!! All my children will have two middle names just like most my family and no none of my other relatives have encountered any issues with their names.

I hesitated to give two middle names to my daughter, I didn’t because I was afraid it would be too much, but I regret it.

I have two middle names. I love them both, and it’s not too much! It’s never ever been a documentation hassle or an annoyance. On documents, even my first middle (which is quite long) often can’t fit due to not enough character spaces. It’s not a big deal at all!

In my country it’s not popular. People in general are going for very folksy short names typical to my country or classical names changed into my language (really don’t love it, but it has been a thing for decades :sob: So beautiful soft Charlotta is Karlotta and people pronounce in a very strong rough way. Kkkarrlotta :sob: And if you go for Charlotta, then there will be people who roll their eyes and think you are trying to be fancy. ‘We used to be farmers!’ ). 90% have only one short ultrapopular name. I have one middle and I wish I had more. It has been very useful in my life. If I can, I will go for two middles for my children! Kinda wish that I could even do more middles, but max two is allowed!:sob:

I’m sorry to hear that! Ignore others opinions, follow your heart <3

On Nameberry, the idea of two middles seems to be a pretty popular thing. Personally for me, unless there’s some sentimental reasoning for the two middles I see the idea of first / middle / last as a three name deal.

I have two middle names, and personally I think it’s unnecessary. [name_f]My[/name_f] middle names are both pretty long so my second middle name is almost never used on forms due to character limits/lack of space.

Most of my name combos have two middle names. I like them because I can add more meaning to combos that way. [name_f]My[/name_f] mum has two middle names and she likes it.

I plan to use two for my kids, because I grew up with a really short surname and now have my husband’s equally short surname! One middle feels a bit incomplete when your surname is one syllable imho!

I’m also really sentimental with names and want to imbue them with as much meaning as possible.

Its not really a thing here. Feels way too fancy for me. The only way I would consider it for a children would be if the first middle was really part of a double first and I still wanted to use a significant name as another middle. For example, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] where she goes by [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
