Two Presidential Names? Too cheesy?

(deleted for privacy)

I don’t think it’s too cheesy. [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] is known but wont be most people’s first association. And I think [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is more popular as just that or [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], plain old [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] doesn’t bring him to mind for me. Some people will definitely notice, but I don’t see it as a deal breaker.

I don’t think it’s super noticeable, so it should work fine. [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] isn’t as well known of a President, which helps it to not feel like a theme.

[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] doesn’t even register as presidential. I think [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] Klein first.

Aw I love them together! I actually didn’t think of [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] at all. The [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] association is stronger but that’s not a bad thing.

I did notice the connection straight away, but I don’t think it is overwhelming (which I’d consider something like [name_m]Roosevelt[/name_m] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] to be)…or a bad thing. These names go together brilliantly and I love that they both have a meaningful family connection.

I really like them together. As pp said, [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] isn’t the first president you think of. I assumed we were talking [name_m]Truman[/name_m] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] when you said Presidential names. [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] are very handsome together!

Our son in [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and we get jokes all the time about how our next one should be [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]. Guess i’m a little more sensitive to it because I’ve already had the negative comments (and we’re not even from the US)

However, it wasn’t the first think I though of and I think they go really well together style and syllable wise.

The first thing I though of was how my little sister cant say/remember [name_m]Alvin[/name_m] and calls it [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and the chipmunks.

I’d suggest a modern take on them, like [name_m]Abe[/name_m], [name_m]Bram[/name_m] or [name_m]Kalvin[/name_m] but considering you chose them for family/traditional reasons I feel like that would just be ruining the idea.

Go for it because you love the names and they’re meaningful to you and your family.

I think the names, together, evoke more religious tones than anything else to me. I think of Calvinism and the Old Testament when I see those names together, which seems to be a good thing based on your background?

I think both names are fine. If I were named them, I would go by [name_u]Cal[/name_u] and [name_m]Bram[/name_m] though.

I think it’s fine! When I saw your heading I was thinking you were going to use two presidential surnames, which might be a bit much, especially for twins, but the first names you have chosen have some well-known associations that even predate the U.S. presidency.

I really like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Abraham[/name_m]. Others are right; since [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] is somewhat of a lesser-known president, the combination isn’t overwhelmingly presidential.

I think it’s fine!

I actually came on here preparedfor some really overtly presidential combo like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_m]Clinton[/name_m]… which is too much…

But [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] don’t immediately make me think of the presidents

You could also do [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Abram[/name_m] if there’s any wiggle room with your hubby

[name_m]Even[/name_m] if people notice it doesn’t matter. The names are cute. Enjoy

[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] are awesome brother names - [name_u]Cal[/name_u] (or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]) and [name_m]Abe[/name_m] or [name_m]Bram[/name_m]…

They don’t ring as presidential to me. I thought you were going to suggest [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], or [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Hayes[/name_m]…

It’s not very noticeable, or maybe I am just bad at remembering all the presidents…

Also think its fine, barely registered as presidential names to me.

I dont think its that big of a problem. I think of [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] & [name_m]Hobbes[/name_m] before [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Coolidge[/name_m] comes into my mind.

I agree with other posters, I don’t think the name [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] will make people think of the president. First thing it brought to mind for me was [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] & [name_m]Hobbes[/name_m], which I love.

I really like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] together, especially because of the family connections. I don’t think they are too presidential; go for it!
