I’m a little ahead of myself, but I’m prepping for an IVF transfer and just wanted to dream a little about names if it works and she sticks.
For a long time, my favorite name has been [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], with the nickname [name_u]Cam[/name_u]. I love this name for boys and I like it for girls. Once I found out the embryos I currently have are both female, I figured I would use [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] for my first child regardless of sex.
But I also recently discovered I really like the name [name_u]Remy[/name_u], again it’s very much a boys now unisex name but seems good for girls too.
They are very different names and I’m not sure if I stick with the name I’ve been dreaming about (but admittedly I think associated with having a boy) or pivot to this “new” name that feels less tied up in my previous associations.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer one name over another or have thoughts? [name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to get more perspectives while I am prepping for the transfer. Thanks!
To be completely honest I feel like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] & [name_u]Remy[/name_u] are similar styles! They’re both gender neutral, familiar without being overly common, and warm. I also think that [name_u]Remy[/name_u] could be a stretchy nickname for [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], if you’re open to that!
That’s so helpful, I think being so close to these names has me thinking they are wildly different but it’s great to hear they do sound like they go together in your ears!
Both nice. I think I prefer [name_u]Remy[/name_u] (or [name_u]Remi[/name_u] spelling) on a girl, because I think a girl is more likely to be bothered by the unflattering meaning of [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] - bent nose. I just think name nerdiness tends to be a largely feminine interest. But I agree with others that I don’t actually think they’re too disparate in style though have very different origins.
