Two weeks to go, still confused 😳

We’ve got 2 weeks to go and we are paralyzed with indecision!

The names we both like are:

[name_f]Alaina[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]

We are big nickname people, so the names above would become [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] or [name_f]Livy[/name_f].

We’ve also tossed around [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] ([name_u]Jules[/name_u]) or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] ([name_f]Tess[/name_f]).

Popularity is a consideration but not a deal breaker (meaning we don’t really care that [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is #2, we just want a beautiful name that we love).

Our other daughter is [name_f]Elise[/name_f], whom we call [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] 99% of the time.

What do you think??

I prefer [name_f]Alaina[/name_f]. [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] is nice too.

[name_f]Alaina[/name_f] is so beautiful! [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is just darling. [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] gets my vote!

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is my favorite pairing. They’re both so simple and classically spelled–if [name_f]Elise[/name_f] was [name_f]Elyse[/name_f], I could sort of see [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] and [name_f]Alaina[/name_f], but [name_f]Elise[/name_f] sort of begs the [name_f]Elena[/name_f] spelling for me, and then I find [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] too visually similar. I love [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and would love to see it used, but I don’t like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] as much as [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] is not really my style, but I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] work very well together.

Then again, [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is my third favorite girls’ name, so I’m obviously biased. I love the nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f]/[name_f]Livy[/name_f] and the tie to [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]!

My favourites are [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. I think they are the prettiest, go best with [name_f]Elise[/name_f], and have the cutest nicknames. I especially like that [name_f]Tess[/name_f] sounds so distinctive from [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

I vote [name_f]Alaina[/name_f]! It’s so beautiful, I love this spelling. I think [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is a great nn–it’s edgy and versatile (could be feminine, sporty, artsy, or anything in between). [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] go really well together in my opinion. Similar enough to sound sibling-like, but not too matchy. [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is a great pairing!

[name_f]Alaina[/name_f] or [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] are my favs with [name_f]Elise[/name_f].

Because she will probably be known more by her nickname that is how I will vote, so I would choose [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Livy[/name_f]. So cute!

I love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]/[name_f]Livvy[/name_f] - for me the popularity was why I shied away, but if that doesn’t bother you, I prefer [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]/[name_f]Livvy[/name_f] to [name_f]Alaina[/name_f]/[name_f]Lainey[/name_f]. (DH and I call our daughter [name_f]Libby[/name_f], this is a nn sound we love…also considered [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]/Lyddie).

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f] is also very cute and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] sound adorable together.

My favourite is [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], but If you are between [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], I would pick [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] because I prefer [name_f]Livy[/name_f] to [name_f]Lainey[/name_f].

My preference is Olivia ‘Livy’. I also love Tessa ‘Tess’. The other two aren’t my style, but fine names. Livy and Tess are right up my alley. Good luck!

Ellie and Tess might actually be my fave!

[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] sounds super cute, in my opinion!

I really like the name [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]! I would say, [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] is my favorite from the names you mentioned. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is okay, but I do like the nickname [name_f]Livy[/name_f]. [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] isn’t really my style, to be honest. But I do like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is a cute nickname. But my favorite is definitely [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]!

I prefer [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] or [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]!

I like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], nicknames [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Livvy[/name_f]/[name_f]Liv[/name_f]. I think with [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f], those two work best.

My favourite is definitely [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. And [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is so cute!

I’m going to cast an official vote for [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] might cause endless confusion as there are so many ways to spell that name. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] are both fashionable classics and I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Livvy[/name_f]. Good
[name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

[name_u]Julianne[/name_u] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] would be my preference but popularity has a huge influence on what I’d pick. While your choices are nice names, do you want your daughter to be one of many in her class? [name_m]Just[/name_m] in my older two daughters classes there are 10 Olivias and 5 Alainas/Elainas. They all have to go by [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] A. ,[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] R. , [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] B … Etc.

Not saying they’re not pretty names because they are! [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to give you this perspective that it makes the name very unoriginal. Similar to the Jennifers and [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]'s of my school years :).

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] would both go well with [name_f]Elise[/name_f]!

My vote goes to [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. It’s easy to spell and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is a really cute nickname with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I also think the ‘l’ sounds in both [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] make them a mouthful with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. Good luck in your final decision!
