Uk Berrys please help me to name my five day old son- choice of three names!

Hello

I have been a nameberry fan for the last six months although definitely a lurker not a poster so apologies for his being my first one lol! I really need help deciding on a name for my son who was born five days ago please?! I expected to take some time deciding as all through my pregnancy (team yellow) my OH and I were unsure but he needs a name now and all the texts and phone calls off friends and family is driving me to distraction! I love all three of our choices and think he suits all three it’s just a matter of choosing one and I can’t as I’m convinced whichever I pick I will wish I went with another choice! Two of the names we like are fairly American I think so I wanted to get a uk view: the names are

[name]Greyson[/name] (nn grey)
[name]Miller[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]/ [name]Roan[/name]

If we have go with greyson or rowan/ roan his middle name will be [name]Lee[/name] (after my partner) if we go with miller we need another middle name although [name]William[/name] is a contender. We have a two syllable surname beginning with F. I think my OH really likes miller out of all three. it seems that the males in the family love miller and all the females love rowan so that’s no help! What do you think?!

Thanks in advance

I think [name]Miller[/name] is very American and it is my least favourite. Some surnames I like ([name]Carter[/name], [name]Carson[/name], [name]Brooks[/name]) but I feel that [name]Miller[/name] is pushing it for me personally. I like [name]Grey[/name] on it’s own, so if it was a toss up between [name]Grey[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] it would be a massively hard choice; but since it isn’t my vote goes to [name]Rowan[/name]. I think it’s a lovely name with character and strength and beauty. [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Lee[/name] is a very nice combo.

[name]Rowan[/name], hands down. The other two are rather chavvy, and [name]Rowan[/name] is so handsome and fun!

Can being part of the commonwealth count?!

I really like [name]Roan[/name] [name]Lee[/name]

I’m American, so you’re not really asking me…but nobody names their kid [name]Miller[/name] in [name]America[/name]. I’m a school teacher and have never once encountered it. Other surnames are popular, just not that one. [name]Greyson[/name]/[name]Grey[/name] is popular. [name]Rowan[/name] is used more for girls here. I’ve never seen it spelled [name]Roan[/name] before, though.

Thanks for the opinions guys and you thatkathryngirl, that’s really interesting  Sorry I didn’t mean to exclude anyone just wounded if the uk views of the names would be different. I appreciate any views!! X

haha, I agree! Another American, and I was curious which two were considered more American because the only one I found very American was [name]Greyson[/name]/[name]Grayson[/name]–I found [name]Miller[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] more British than anything (although I’m probably perceiving things wrong!). I adore [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name] as a nn, so [name]Greyson[/name] would get my vote (if I get to vote!), but [name]Rowan[/name] is my second choice. They’re all lovely, though.

Go with [name]Rowan[/name]. I don’t like the surname-come-first-name trend at all. Like Otter said, it’s pretty chavvy.

Totally agree with [name]Ren[/name] and Otter. Another vote for [name]Rowan[/name] here

American and I vote [name]Grey[/name]! [name]Rowan[/name] is ok but doesn’t seem as straightforward. [name]Miller[/name] is a beer here, but I suppose if you pick this you could have a middle name [name]Grey[/name]?

American dude here, and I vote [name]Rowan[/name] (I don’t like the spelling of [name]Roan[/name], and it looks like it’d have a different pronunciation too).
[name]Greyson[/name] I’m not such a fan of, though I think Gratian (gray-shen) is a very excellent name.
[name]Miller[/name] is the one I’d cut right away, as a FN. [name]Don[/name]'t like it at all (unless as a MN, then it’d be fine).

I vote [name]Rowen[/name], [name]Grey[/name] to me isnt a nice colour and [name]Miller[/name] is a very common surname, to me itll be like naming a child [name]Smith[/name]

I think [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Lee[/name] is your best choice! Another American teacher here…have never met a [name]Miller[/name]… [name]Greyson[/name] is getting a bit too popular.
