Uma Thurman Daughter's Name

Are you ready?

“I would like to announce [name]Uma[/name] and Arki’s daughter’s name for the first time officially: [name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Arusha[/name] Arkadina Altalune [name]Florence[/name] [name]Thurman[/name]-Busson, better known to family and friends as [name]Luna[/name],” the actress’s rep [name]Gabrielle[/name] Kachman tells PEOPLE exclusively.

That’s a doozy. It’s hard to know where to start… I will say thought that [name]Luna[/name] is pretty, I love it.

Is the baby secretly a princess? The only time I think that long of a name can work is for royals, or those close to being royal. But, she is a celebrity and a lot of people view celebrities as close to being royal. (Not me)

Anyway, I like Rosalind and Florence. The other names (Arusha, Arkadina, Altalune) must be family names?

It seems to have a “red”, “fiery” theme to it. And I dont see how [name]Luna[/name] is a nickname. But just my thoughts… I love [name]Rosalind[/name]!

The baby’s father is billionaire [name]Arpad[/name] Busson so I think they can get away with a crazy name, he has two other children with model [name]Elle[/name] [name]MacPherson[/name] named [name]Arpad[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Busson and [name]Aurelius[/name] [name]Cy[/name] [name]Andrea[/name] Busson.

No! Not my secret love [name]Rosalind[/name]!

Um… that’s a LOT of name.

She’s [name]Luna[/name], presumably diminutive of her THIRD middle?!

Crazy! I do love [name]Luna[/name] though

Well, that makes sense. I really don’t keep up with celebrities at all so I didn’t know. Quick judgement on my part.

You beat me to it! I was going to post this, too!! Her rep also said that each name had meaning to either [name]Uma[/name] or [name]Arpad[/name]. That is a BIG name for a kid! At least if she doesn’t the nn [name]Luna[/name] later, she has 5 given names to choose from. And nn possibilities to choose from from each of those!! And this is with step siblings [name]Maya[/name] [name]Ray[/name] and [name]Levon[/name] [name]Roan[/name]!!!

Billionaire or not this kids name us a doozy, trying to say it outloud was a tongue twister the first time or two lol

That’s a ridiculously long and twisty name. I don’t really care too much about celebrity names… but this is a looong way from [name]Maya[/name] & [name]Levon[/name] (guessing [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Hawk[/name] had a BIG say in those names!).

I love [name]Rosalind[/name], so for me it’s kind of pity that they won’t call her that. But it’s not my child, so whatever. The name is a mouthful, but nice.

Why didn’t they put the third middle first, if they wanted [name]Luna[/name]?

I like [name]Rosalind[/name], but the whole name is definitely a mouthful. I though ([name]Prince[/name]) [name]William[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Philip[/name] [name]Louis[/name] Mountbatten-[name]Windsor[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]Charles[/name] [name]Albert[/name] [name]David[/name] Mountbatten-[name]Windsor[/name] was long, but wow.

I also love [name]Luna[/name], and know people that go by their middle name- but I have to echo @yellow’s comment-she’s going by her third(!) middle?

That name is beyond ridiculous. PLEASE. She obviously believes she is royalty.

I’ll have to admit when I glanced at the celebrity name list on the Nameberry home page, I thought she had twin girls because there were so many names listed! I agree that it’s a shame she isn’t using [name]Rosalind[/name] as her namesake, it’s so pretty. But [name]Luna[/name] is cute too.

They sure like their ‘A’ names.

Me too. I think it could be all the A names for me. Their little girl definitely has a lot of names to fall back on if she doesn’t like [name]Rosalind[/name] or something.

I know that [name]Uma[/name] is technically American (?) or something along those lines, but [name]Arpad[/name] could hail from a family in which many middle names are common. I don’t really think of it as haughty or a practice confined to royals. I knew a little girl when I was little who came from a very average, middle-class Eastern-European family; she had several middle names. For some people it’s a way of honoring friends and family while keeping your own style, so… shrug

Anyway, it’s a mouthful, but they all seem fine together, and I love [name]Rosalind[/name] and [name]Luna[/name].

eye roll Really? [name]How[/name] many names can one child have? It’s not even the number of names, because as caroeliese pointed out some people like multiple middle names. It’s just that they are SUCH a mouthful. Poor kid… first day of school… “[name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name]… [name]Rosalind[/name]… oh, that’s me… my mommy calls me [name]Luna[/name].”
