Partner and I are adopting newborn boy and we want something from 96 but rare. Anyone have anything?
I took these from the bottom half of the top 1000 names from '96. I didn’t compare them to today’s top 1000, but they still sound relatively rare to my ears, although not unheard of.

I believe they are the top 1000 of that year, unless you want something even rare.
Go to the SSA baby names site-- they tabulate the official data forevery birth year since 1870-- and type in 1996 into he ‘top 1000’ search button. If those are too common you can download the raw data for the birth year for every name given (it’s about 5000 or so entries long). To protect privacy they only tabulate names given to at least 5 children.
