Undiscovered gems from the 1910 social register

I was going through the social register for 1910 and found some interesting names. I want to know what you berries think, are any of them usable? Or are they too out there? If you had to choose which one would be your favorite? ( I’m just posting the most interesting from the girls list, the boys list of interesting names was way too long, I’ll have to post that separately…)

Interesting! I’ve seen Leopoldine before and I really like it. [name]Rosina[/name], [name]Hedwig[/name], [name]Thekla[/name], [name]Eveline[/name] and [name]Zenaide[/name] are nice too.

I like [name]Mariska[/name] and [name]Eveline[/name]. I don’t think I’d use it, but [name]Welcome[/name] is an interesting choice.

I went to school with a Caramie, which I think may be the same as Caramai? (maybe thats a may sound?) I always thought it was interesting, but it sounded a bit like [name]Jeremy[/name] with a K sound.

I think that’s really cool!
Of that list I think the ones that are most useable are:
[name]Mariska[/name]
[name]Eveline[/name]
[name]Georgette[/name]
[name]Rosina[/name]

For the more adventurous parents who like vintage or some exotic flair, I think these names could work.

[name]Mariska[/name]
[name]Eveline[/name]
[name]Malvina[/name]
[name]Alida[/name]
Leopoldine (mn only)
[name]Sabina[/name]
[name]Arline[/name]
[name]Alfreda[/name]
[name]Georgette[/name]
[name]Anais[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name]
[name]Rosina[/name]
[name]Clarinda[/name]
[name]Thekla[/name]
[name]Celestine[/name]
[name]Zenaide[/name]
[name]Alexine[/name]

I like [name]Alida[/name], [name]Sabina[/name], and [name]Rosina[/name] the best. [name]Alida[/name] was my great grandmother’s name.

That one caught my interest too, I wish I knew how they pronounced it, it seems like it could end in ‘my’ ‘may’ or ‘me’. Or maybe it’s related to Caramia? I guess we’ll never know

I agree, these definitely aren’t. The names you would see in today’s top 100. Funny how time affects our naming styles and what’s considered acceptable and what’s out moded

[name]Mariska[/name] and [name]Celestine[/name] definitely stand out to me. All these names are quite interesting!

I forgot to mention [name]Clarinda[/name] and [name]Rosina[/name] were sisters, I thought it made an interesting sib set, very well matched in my opinion.

I know/have met an [name]Anais[/name], [name]Bliss[/name], [name]Celestine[/name], [name]Arline[/name], [name]Sabina[/name] & [name]Alida[/name]. All of them where it well! ([name]Anais[/name] & [name]Celestine[/name] live in Belgium and those are not uncommon there). I really like [name]Eveline[/name] and [name]Sabina[/name]!
