Do you ever think maybe you just overthink names and then invariably find things you don’t like about said name?
Or do you ever think ok I like this first name option but a middle just isn’t flowing nicely with it? Or you feel uninspired about the middle name etc?
Both my eldest and youngest have middle names that mean something to me. ( An honour name and a name that my sister chose) but if when we get pregnant with our third, the middle name just isn’t making me say ‘yes this is the one’ granted it’s only a middle name. But yeah… Feeling a little uninspired.

I am sorry you’re feeling uninspired at the moment. If it helps, you could enter your older children’s firsts and middles into the NB name generator and possibly get some fresh names?
When I’m feeling uninspired, I like to go through my lists and clear out names I am no longer in love with and then consider exactly what I’m looking for in a fresh, new favorite.
Sorry if that’s not very helpful, but just know that you’re not the only one who gets this feeling every now and then!

I completely overthought [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], my brother said it was way too feminine so I took it off my UC: because of that I worry about [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], [name_u]Toby[/name_u] and [name_u]Remy[/name_u]!
Florian [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is lovely. It’s a very light name and airy name @anon47024950
Thanks @elanorelle I’ll give that a try. I think perhaps I am just overthinking it all.

This definitely happens. I look at a name from a thousand different angles until it doesn’t appeal to me. Then sometimes I’m just like: “what even are names?!” It’s very frustrating. I usually just start over in my head. I get out a blank piece of paper and write the names I know I like and go from there.

Haha ‘what are even names’. That made me laugh. I think maybe to take a break too, that way I won’t find myself over analysing names I like.

Yes all the time! I’ll get excited about a name and then start thinking “no that’s not it. That’s not the one”
I like looking through name lists and trying to get inspiration from others. It helps to have a long list of names I like and then come back and pick out different favorites.
