Unique Double Barrel

Hello, I am interested in double barrel names and already know quite a few of the more common ones, so I am interested to hear what less common ones you have heard.

Mary + another name is of course very common, but then it becomes more individualized when the second name put with it is uncommon. For example, I have met a Mary Michael before and a Mary Davis.
Another unique combo that comes to mind is from the movie The Help in which the little girl is named “Mae Moebley.”
I love the southerness of these combos and that both are strictly used as the first name (i.e. Double Barrel) and are somewhat original but believable.

What double barrel names have you heard before, or if you could make up your own what would it be?

Thanks!

i like the Mary combos, especially the smashed-together ones - Mary-Frances, Marianne, Marielle, Mariella, Marietta, Marilyn, Maryellen. I think Rose, May, Jane, June, and other monosyllables are all usable in a double-name combo in both the first or second spot; I wouldn’t blink twice at a Rose-Ellen, a May-Alice, or a Lila-Jane. I also have a major soft spot for Ruth May because of the Poisonwood Bible ^^

Double barrel names have always been interesting to me! I hear them a lot here in the [name_u]South[/name_u] used as honor names. Often with a feminine name in the first spot, and then a name to honor a father, grandfather, etc. in the second slot.

[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] Gr@y
[name_u]Anne[/name_u] Ryl@nd

Sienna-Lily and Cora-Molly are some I’ve come across

Most of the ones I e met have been fairly common (aka Anna-Kate, Mary-Beth etc.) but some of the more uncommon ones that I remember…

Lou-Ellen
Fae-Boheme
Anna-Blue

I have come across all kinds of double barrel names (of all varieties: religious, smoosh names, honor names, gender bending, nick-namey, et cetera), and I generally like them!

I’m a big fan of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] combinations: [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] are some that I’ve considered recently.

[name_f]Ina[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]

I’ve always loved Alice-Mary as a double barrel
Also my grandad used to call me Shannon-Mary when I was little (Mary isn’t in my name at all, it was just a nickname he used) so I have a soft spot for that too

And I’ve met a baby Ruby-Sue

I’ve heard Sue-Lara and Sue-Maria.

I rather like the sound of Isla-Wren or Aoife-Wren.
